GNF Members Update 24 March

Dear All

Following the Prime Minister's statement last night matters have changed fundamentally for us all, whilst advice continues to evolve.

Business Support
We have now received details of the full range of business support measures made available to UK businesses and employees, who is eligible, when the schemes open and how to apply.

Guidance on Business Closures
The Government has also published guidance on further businesses and premises to close and, whilst the guidance brings greater clarity than previously, these are very complex matters and the information is worth studying in detail.

Commercial Tenants
The Government has announced that the Coronavirus bill will include a measure preventing landlords evicting commercial tenants who are unable to pay their rent.

Key Workers
Last night's guidance included the ordering of accommodation businesses to close; however an exemption was made for key workers. A specific list of key workers in relation to this order is yet to be published, however the link below lists key workers as published on 19 March. Key workers staying in accommodation are only allowed to do so if it is solely for the purpose of them undertaking their job.

TIER & Tourism Industry Council
There are now weekly TIER and Tourism Industry Council meetings that the Tourism Minister and Secretary of State attend when possible. As there is a TIER meeting this afternoon and a Tourism Industry Council meeting tomorrow afternoon, we will continue to keep you updated on outputs from these meetings as necessary.

In the meantime please keep in touch with us on any changes in the operation of your business. Please also just adjust and update the content on your own businesses pages on www.thenewforest.co.uk . If you need any assistance updating your page/log-in details please email contact@gonewforest.com .

Please also remember to stay in touch with other Go New Forest Members on our dedicated GNF Members Private Facebook Group

With best wishes,

Anthony
