Registration Open for DCNR Grant Workshops
 
Once again, DCNR's free statewide grant workshops will be taking place across PA this fall. These workshops will provide technical assistance to potential applicants for grants related to recreation, conservation, riparian forest buffers, trails and community park projects. All potential grantees for the upcoming 2019 grant program are strongly encouraged to attend. The Member Picnic/Cleanup Day is Friday, October 5 at the PRPS Office in State College from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. You can view the  list of projects and decide which ones you want. If you are coming, please bring something to share. RSVP by Monday, October 1 to Tracy Robert and let her know what you are bringing.

Host a PRPS Workshop!

PRPS is looking for host facilities for 2019 training and certification workshops. Workshops are held throughout the year and vary based on workshop-type and total number of participants.
Workshops include:
  • Swimming Pool 101 and Recertification Workshops
  • Playground Maintenance Workshops (must have playground onsite or within 1 mile of facility)
  • Certified Playground Safety Inspector Course
  • Youth Sports Administrator Workshop
  • Get Outdoors PA Exchange
  • and more!

The Federal Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) has been an invaluable source of funding for parks, protected areas, public lands, playgrounds, pools, ball fields and historic sites in PA and across the nation. Tell your Member of Congress and U.S. Senators to permanently reauthorize and fully fund the Land and Water Conservation Fund. Please personalize and adapt this sample letter to tell your Member of Congress. It expires in 11 days!

Conneat Lake recently had some renovations done at Fireman's Beach Park in Crawford County. This is a great quote to share from Secretary Dunn.
