Message From The Mundelein Police Department
Now that schools are letting out for the summer, a reminder about the village’s curfew ordinance should not be forgotten. Curfew hours for children under 17 years old are Sunday - Thursday from 11:00 PM to 6:00 AM and Saturday and Sunday from Midnight to 6:00 AM. In addition, drivers under 18 may not operate a motor vehicle between the hours of 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM, Sunday through Thursday, and between 11:00 PM and 6:00 AM on Friday and Saturday.

Crisis Care and Mental Health in Lake County
Lake County is committed to help its residents maintain their health and well-being, and there are a variety of treatment, training and support services available to those experiencing problems related to emotional and mental illness, or drug and alcohol addiction.

Lake County also offers a 24/7 Crisis Care Hotline and an anonymous brief intervention service called “Text-A-Tip” for middle and high school students. For more information about these programs, click here.
Is The State Holding Your Money?
The State Treasurer is holding 2.9 billion dollars in unclaimed funds for Illinoisans. The State holds these lost funds until they are claimed by either the original owner or their heirs. Property is returned at no cost with the proper identification.

Metra: Kids Ride For Free All Summer Long


Metra announced that up to three children age 11 and under will be able to ride free with an adult beginning this Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day as part of its expanded Family Fares program.   

Listen to the Radio for Traffic Updates
With construction season here, I wanted to make sure you were aware of the county radio station. Highway Advisory Radio 1620 AM communicates real time traffic information directly to Lake County motorists. Broadcast information includes location of delays due to crashes, construction and extreme traffic congestion to help motorists in planning their commute.

Rustoleum Golf Tournament at Ivanhoe Club June 4-10

The Rust-Oleum Championship is an event on the  Web.com   Tour, the pathway to the PGA TOUR. Each year 50 players from the  Web.com  Tour will earn their PGA TOUR cards and their right to play on golf’s biggest stage. 

Kirk Players Presents Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike

Kirk Players are thrilled to present Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike by Christopher Durang, the raucous, fun-filled 2013 Tony Award-winning comedy. The show will be performed at Mundelein High School Theatre on Friday, June 8 and Saturday, June 9 @ 7:30pm and Saturday, June 9 and Sunday, June 10 @ 2pm.  
Free Vision and Hearing Screening
The Lake County Center For Independent Living located at 377 N Seymour is hosting a free vision and hearing screening on June 11th from 9:00 am til 3:00 pm. They will also be conducting demonstrations of assistive technology. If you have questions, call Claudia Mancera at 847 949-4440 ext 223.

The Rules of the Road Review Course is designed to give drivers – especially senior citizens and persons with disabilities – the knowledge and confidence needed to renew or obtain a driver's license. The review course combines an explanation of the driving exam with a practice written exam.  Call Nancy at 847 223-2847 to register. It is free.

A Matter of Balance - Do you have concerns about falling? Would you like to learn more about how to reduce the fear of falling? You are eligible if you are 60 or older, ambulatory, or concerned about falling. This eight week workshop begins Thursday July 12 from 10 am til noon at Fremont Township. Call Kari Pohar to register at 847 740-6708.

Shredding Event, Saturday, July 21
9-11am or until the truck is full.
This is a free event sponsored by State Representative Nick Sauer and State Senator Dan McConchie.Remove all binder clips, booklet binders, or paper clips. Staples are acceptable. Up to 2 large banker box size worth of shredding per vehicle (not individual in vehicle). All those participating in the event are encouraged to donate a non-perishable food item to the Fremont Township Food Pantry.

Free Hearing Screening and Otoscope Exam
Tuesday July 24 @ 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Audibel Hearing Aid Center in Libertyville, a leader in “Better Hearing Health” is pleased to offer a Free Hearing Screening and Otoscope Exam Event on Tuesday, July 24 from 10:00 am til 2 pm at lower level of the Fremont Township Administrative Building.
