Digital Literacy Lab
Hello! Central Library recently suffered from a minor fire. The first and third floors are reopened! However, the second floor of Central Library (including the Digital Literacy Lab) will remain closed for repairs until further notice. I will send out an update when the lab is open for business as usual. Please continue to check our social media channels and website, where we will post updated information. Thank you for your continued support!

While many of the Lab classes are cancelled, there are so many awesome things happening this month at the library. We were able to move our Tech Talk to another space, so I hope to see some of you there. Make sure you check out our event calendar !

Alexa, Siri, Google, oh my! Navigating the world of personal assistants can be confusing. Join us Friday, March 20 at 12:00 p.m. at Central Library for a talk on the basics of home automation.

Wassim Metallaoui, a software developer and home technology enthusiast, is going to share how he automated his home and how you can get started.

This talk will be of interest to you whether you are a technology expert or enthusiast, or just want to learn more about how technology works.
3D Printing at Martin Regional Library
Join Martin Regional Library staff on Tuesday, March 24 at 2:00 p.m. for an introduction to 3D printing . In this session, you will see a demonstration of the 3D printer and learn about the software involved in the process.

After attending this orientation, you can make appointments to use to the equipment for making your own 3D printed items! For adults.
Privacy Tip: limit your browser extensions
Browser extensions can be a powerful aid in the fight for digital privacy. The Electronic Frontier Foundation has several that I regularly recommend to computer users. But you can't trust everything you see on the internet.

KrebsonSecurity released an interesting article earlier this month on some recent browser extension that caused damage for its users. Check it out here .

tldr; Be careful what you install on your browser.
