1000 BED NAVY HOSPITAL SHIP ARRIVES IN L.A. HARBOR: AIDS LOCAL HOSPITALS

Dear Neighbor,

The COVID-19 crisis is a national emergency, and I am thankful to know that Cities like Long Beach are not being left to manage this alone. County, State, and Federal Government agencies continue to mobilize to make a difference in our communities as we all work together to fight this virus.

Earlier today the US Navy's Mercy, the 1000 bed Hospital Ship pictured arrived in the Port of Los Angeles. The ship will be a lifeline for local hospitals throughout the region, including here in Long Beach, freeing up space by serving patients who do not have COVID-19.

The ship has roughly 800 medical staffers, 1,000 hospital beds and 12 operating rooms.

I realize things are changing rapidly and new information and updates are coming out all the time. But, I want to assure you that my office and my team are at your service and will continue to provide any and all assistance we can from both our office at City Hall as well as our Field Office at 340 Nieto Avenue. Please reach out to our office any time as our focus will continue to be providing effective information and responsive assistance for any request.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact my office at (562)570-6300 or by email at [email protected].

Sincerely,
Suzie Price
