84 students provided 4,750 volunteer hours from August 2017-May 2018
Greene County Youth Leadership
Forty-three students have been selected for the 2018-19 Greene County Youth Leadership Program that begins with the retreat on July 31 at The Oaks. Industry Tour In-Service
Education and Workforce Development will host a manufacturing in-service for city and county teachers, administrators and counselors Thursday, June 14th. (A registration form can be downloaded here) The in-service will include plant tours and meetings with human resource managers and plant managers. This in-service program is part of the continuing effort in Greene County to provide better communication between the world of education and the world of work. NJCAA DIII World Series
The 2018 National Junior College Athletic Association's DIII World Series that took place May 25- June 1 at Pioneer Park.
An update on all activities will be sent soon. At press time, a winner hadn't been decided. Thank you to the Sports Council and many volunteers who ensure that this tournament is a success.

American Downtown Celebration
Town of Greeneville's sixth annual "American Downtown" Fourth of July Celebration to include a parade, live music, fireworks and other family fun. The history-themed "American Downtown" will be held in the afternoon and evening of Wednesday, July 4, with most of the festivities planned at the Big Spring area behind the Greeneville-Greene County Library. Admission to the "American Downtown" if free. The Main Street parade will kick off the 4th of July event at 2 pm. The theme of this year's parade will be "A Walk Through The Past," placing special emphasis on local history. For the first time in the event's history, entry to the parade will be free to everyone, according to organizers. The parade will begin at Towne Square Shopping Center, turning right onto Summer Street, left onto Main Street, right onto Tusculum Boulevard, and end at Greeneville High School. In addition to the parade, the free family celebration includes live music, dancing, food, a kids zone, Hot Dog Eating Contest and fireworks.
