Update from the Executive Director:

During the COVID-19 pandemic, our member schools have pivoted to provide quality distance learning initiatives for students. Our schools were well-situated to adjust to the circumstances, and we are proud of the teachers' and administrators' unceasing efforts to create positive learning environments in and out of the classroom.

Despite the break in the legislative session, we continue to advocate for an increase to the tax credit cap to encourage more scholarship donations. We know a challenging economic season is ahead. Now, more than ever, there will be a greater need for scholarships to keep students in the school that best meets their learning needs.

We are monitoring other opportunities for education funding in our state and remain committed to advocating for access to private school education for Oklahoma families.

We thank you for your continued support of OSF and the students and families we serve.

Luke Wells is a bright, motivated student among his many accomplishments, he's a musician, athlete, actor and captain of the academic team. When considering college and next steps, Luke ultimately set his sights on joining the military.

Applying to the service academies was no easy task. Thankfully, with the support of his teachers from Oklahoma Bible Academy (OBA), Luke submitted top-notch applications to military institutions, garnering recommendations from Sen. James Lankford and Congressman Frank Lucas.

Daring to hope for acceptance to just one academy, Luke and his mother were pleasantly surprised when Luke received appointments to three: the U.S. Air Force Academy, West Point and the U.S. Naval Academy.

Ultimately, Luke decided to take his talents and serve his country in the Air Force, with the goal of becoming an aerospace engineer and designing airplanes.

Without the support of his teachers and OSF, Luke says he likely wouldn't have been able to achieve his dreams.
Here's what mom Brenda says about OSF:

Without the scholarship from OSF, Luke wouldn’t have been able to attend OBA. While other kids were getting cars at 16 or going on big family vacations, Luke got his education. I ’m so proud of all the hard work Luke has put in and am thankful he was able to go a school that helped him achieve his goals.”

We are proud of the positive changes we made in the lives of Oklahoma students and families in 2019. Since our inception in 2014, we've helped over 4,400 students access the best learning environment that their parents chose for them.

Here's a sneak peek into our annual report:

  • 1,463 scholarships were provided to Oklahoma students in 2019
  • OSF granted 56% of its scholarships to students eligible for the National School Lunch Program at 185% of the federal poverty level or below
  • The current cap on tax credits impacted donations and must be increased so more scholarships can be granted

Bottom line: our program works. Read the report and see for yourself !
