This Sunday King's Chapel will be humming with activity! We will celebrate the Blessing of the Animals at Morning Light, make sandwiches for our housed and unhoused neighbors in the Parish House at  10 AM, celebrate Holy Communion and a baptism at Morning Prayer, and then many of us will go eat sandwiches and worship again with the congregation of  common cathedral, a community of housed and unhoused on the Boston Common and one of our strategic partners for King's Chapel Community Action. 

 

At Morning Prayer we read the words from 2 Corinthians (Chapter 4, verses 5-12) that remind us that it is in the vulnerability of our bodies (our "clay vessels") that we are able to experience God's love. This text seems especially appropriate on a week in which the life of the church will be so focused on caring for our needs -- feeding our neighbors sandwiches, offering one another communion, blessing animal companions, welcoming a little one into the life of faith. It is through these acts that we nurture our own faith, and witness about God's love for others. Come and join in this blessed busy hum!

Worship with common cathedral at noon

common cathedral has reached out to us for help with providing lunches on  Sunday, June 3rd. The organization that was scheduled had to cancel. We will meet at the Parish House on the 3rd at  10 AM to make lunches, bring them to the Common at  noon and then join the common cathedral for service at 1 PM. Wednesday Night Worship Taking Summer Hiatus: Feedback Session | Wednesday, June 20 at 6 PM | The Kinsale

 

The Wednesday Evening service, held at 6 PM in our candlelit chapel, will be taking a break for the summer. Consistent with the end of our main church program year, completed on the King's Chapel Birthday (June 10), the final Wednesday service will be on Wednesday, June 13. The following week, on Wednesday, June 20th, all worshipers at the 6 PM service are invited to come together to share supper and drinks, while we offer and receive feedback about the service. Join us Wednesday, June 20th at Kinsale at 6 PM for the feedback session.  

The Rev. Joy Fallon will be out of town for the weekend, performing a wedding in Seattle.  If you have pastoral needs during her absence, please contact the Rev. Amelia Nugent, who will know how to reach Joy if needed.

We mourn with Bob and Joy Fallon on the death of Bob's brother Charlie, who died of pancreatic cancer on Sunday, May 27, at home surrounded by all of his eight surviving siblings. Charlie was a deeply faithful man who was generous to all he met, and lived to help others. The service for Charlie was earlier today in their home church in Reading, Massachusetts.

We rejoice with choir member Emily Bieber-Harris, who will be singing at home in Michigan on June 10 to raise funds for a non-partisan group in which her sister Kelly is very involved: Voters Not Politicians. The group hopes "to fix Michigan's broken redistricting process through a constitutional amendment against gerrymandering."
