A MESSAGE FROM MRS. STALLMANN
Dear Parents,

We had a very exciting day yesterday with our evacuation. I did want to touch base on a couple of items concerning yesterday. I am very grateful to my teachers and office staff who helped us to perform an evacuation that was very calm and controlled. I am also thankful to the Greendale Police and the Greendale High School for all their help and guidance.
We did debrief as a staff yesterday and discussed areas where we can improve should this happen again. We are also looking at our student information system, Educate, as there was a lag between when we sent out our emails and texts and when some families received the messages.

In the end, I am extremely grateful that it turned out to be nothing more than paper in the box. I’m grateful for the kind emails I received from parents and all the help that St. Alphonsus Parish gave us during the initial investigation and evacuation. Please know that security will always be a top priority at St. Alphonsus School.

Today We Energies was out doing some routine maintenance in our boiler room. As part of that maintenance they replaced some valves and released natural gas from the pipes. The students in the classrooms nearest to the boiler room stairwell did smell the gas right before lunchtime. We contacted We Energies and had them come back out just to make sure everything was okay and we aired out the classrooms immediately. By the time the students came back in from lunch and recess, the smell had significantly diminished. We Energies said everything was fine, there was no leak, and the gas smell was just due to that maintenance procedure. If you have any questions, please contact me.

Enjoy your weekend,

Mrs. Stallmann

 Feast on the Blacktop

I wanted to thank the children who came to practice and made announcements at Church during the month of July. I am very proud of each of you and you did a fantastic job.

Thank you parents for the donated raffle baskets, the bakery items, and for volunteering the weekend of the Feast. Lastly I want to thank everyone for coming to the Feast on the Blacktop. We couldn't have done it without you. Although it was warm that weekend, we had a wonderful turnout with plenty of food and fun. We hope to see you next year!

Sincerely,
