Weekend Lineup
Accordion Kings & Queens, June Fest, Church Picnic

Texas Folklife presents the 29th Annual Accordion Kings & Queens at Miller Outdoor Theatre in Houston on Saturday night. The four grand prize winners of the Big Squeeze Contest will be performing along with pros Czech & Then Some, Eva Ybarra y su Conjunto Siempre, Keyun Dickson & Zydeco Masters, and Jesse Lege & Bayou Brew. If you've never been to this event, make a point to go. It's an amazing amount of top accordion music from 7-11 pm, it's free, and there's room for dancing. Bring a picnic, make an evening of it.

If a down-home community gathering is more to your liking, check out the 162nd Annual June Fest in Cat Spring (just outside of Sealy). It's held at the Cat Spring Agricultural Society Hall and features BARBECUE - beef, pork, and sausage buffet starting at 5 pm. Live auction at 6 with lots of cool things to bid on, then dance to the music of Lost Cause. Great way to spend an evening in the country.

WEEKLY LAUGH
A distraught senior citizen  phoned her doctor's office.  "Is it true," she wanted to know,  "that the medication  you prescribed has to be taken
for the rest of my life?"

"Yes, I'm afraid so," the doctor told her.

There was a moment of silence  before the senior lady replied,  "I'm wondering, then,  just how serious is my condition  because this prescription is marked  'NO REFILLS'."
