COMMENT PERIOD OPEN
for Pike-104 Project

As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation - District 9's Planning Department, the district's Environmental Office is seeking public input for a culvert replacement project in Pike County.

PIK-104-3.16 (PID: 105666) - The proposed project is to replace the structure that is located at the 3.16-mile marker on state Route 104, between T.R. 352 (Ganderhook Road) and C.R. 28 (Loys Run Road), midway between the Pike-Scioto County line and S.R. 32. Construction will not require any new or temporary right of way, and no homes or businesses will be removed as a result of the project.

A contract is scheduled to be awarded in the summer of 2019, and although a full closure of the route is not anticipated, short-term, intermittent periods of closure may be needed during some phases of construction.

Additional information, including a complete description, maps and plans sheets, is available online at www.dot.state.oh.us/districts/D09/Pages/Public-Involvement-Process.aspx. Issues the public may wish to comment on include the effect on local residents, air quality, the local economy, and historic or cultural resources.

Written comments should be submitted by June 12, 2018, or the deadline date that is posted on the web site, to:

Greg Manson, ODOT District 9 Environmental Supervisor
P.O. Box 467; 650 Eastern Avenue, Chillicothe, Ohio 45601

HELP FEED THE HUNGRY

Can you volunteer a minimum of three hours a month at the Pike County Outreach Council food pantry?

The Outreach Council is looking for dedicated people to do intake or distribute food at the pantry located at 107 W. Second St. in downtown Waverly. The pantry is open Monday -Friday 9-3; Thursday evening 6-8; and Saturday 10-1. Call Autumn at 740-941-4348 if you can assist in this important ministry.

We operate the only food pantry in Pike County. Households may come to the pantry every 7 days. We offer a variety of food for Pike Countians at our choice pantry. We need you to either greet the customers and do the intake paperwork or assist our customers as they choose products from 15 or more categories.

We provided 308,259 meals in 2016.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Help us provide food for seniors who are surviving on Social Security and very little food stamps.
