St. Louis Catholic School
Dear St. Louis Families,

Thank you for your patience and understanding as our Friday did not work the way we anticipated. I am deeply appreciative of the teachers and staff for their incredible resilience, faith, and support of our school mission under these stressful circumstances---we are blessed in having amazing teachers and staff members at St. Louis!

St. Louis Will Follow FCPS
To help ease potential unknowns, going forward per the Diocese of Arlington Office of Catholic Schools, we will follow Fairfax County Schools for school closures related to COVID-19. St. Louis will follow any FCPS updates with our own school message with important pertinent details relative to St. Louis School and Preschool.

Pick Up Student Materials Monday
Monday is a professional work day for our school teachers and staff; they will be collaborating and working on digital lessons and learning packets for distance learning. We will open the building to school parents (Kindergarten-8th grade) to pick up necessary books and materials. To help ease the process, we are staggering our families in the following way:
  • Last Name A-F 1:30pm
  • Last Name G-L 2:00pm
  • Last Name M-R 2:30pm
  • Last Name S-Z  3:00pm

We want to ensure this process runs efficiently and smoothly as well as maintains social distancing. Therefore, parents only should plan to come through the main school doors to enter the building and proceed to your child’s homeroom classrooms. Middle School teachers will have the lockers open for you to gather textbooks, notebooks, or important materials in addition to any personal belongings your child might need. You are welcome to pick up your needed materials, but please understand that this is a work day for our teachers so students should be left at home and any questions you might have for the teacher should be directed in an email rather than a personal discussion. You may want to bring a bag to carry the items.

Please Fill Out Technology Survey
Lastly, to help us better prepare for remote learning, we ask that our school families (K-8) participate in this digital readiness survey . Please answer honestly as we are trying to get a gauge on what types of blended learning tools we can expect from our students at home.

We will continue to monitor the local health websites for updated information, and as more information becomes available from FCPS, we will send updated communications.

Again, thank you for all of your support, patience, and understanding as we navigate these unusual circumstances. The health, wellness, and safety of all our families is our top priority. Please pray for all of those impacted by the COVID-19 health crisis, our medical personnel, our educators, and our leaders. Know that I am praying for all of you and your continued well-being. Stay safe!

God bless,
Anne M. Dyke
