National Heights Baptist Church ~ E-News          June 2018
The month of June brings exciting mission and outreach opportunities to National Heights. The excitement begins with Vacation Bible School, June 4-8. Keep this special week in your prayers as we endeavor to reach children and their families with the life-changing message of Christ. Our youth will be traveling to the island of Malta in the middle of the month to work with IMB missionaries. Pray that God will provide them with a safe and productive journey. We conclude June with our annual mission VBS at the Villa Marie Apartments, June 25-28. This week of ministry in coordination with Lifebuilders Ministries provides us with an opportunity to do a mission trip right here in our own backyard. Pray that we will touch lives with the gospel as we minister to the families of Villa Marie.

It's going to be a great month of ministry and missions. I can't wait to see what God is going to do through you!

Deacon's Corner
This month we celebrate our fathers. As important as our mothers are, our fathers are just as important. They also serve as our role model, our teacher, our guide, and complete the partnership which is our parents.

The late Coach Jim Valvano said this about his father; "My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person, he believed in me." We all have at one time or another needed our fathers to believe in us. That belief in us from our earthly father is the fuel which propels us into the individuals we are today, coupled with love of course.

The Apostle John wrote; "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Is this not the greatest give of all, Everlasting Life! In both instances, there is sacrifice, believing, and love. Both of our fathers serve as our role models, our teacher, our guide, and above all else, they love us.

So, as you go forward this month, stop and take the time to thank both of your fathers for being there for you and giving you the best gifts each could ever give you; love, belief that you can be the best you can be, and the ultimate give from our heavenly father: Everlasting Life!

Messages from the Blessing Box:
- This box truly is a blessing for all it has nourished--me twice since I was made aware of it.  Thank you, Father.  I pray that it continues to be a blessing for who finds it.  I give thanks for the help you sent my way.
- Thank you for all the help with food.
-Thank you so very much for the Blessing Box.  You have helped our family so very much with your kind gesture.  God bless you all.
- We were just walking around tired and hungry and we saw your box and were in heaven. We sat at the picnic table and ate. This very early morning I have been walking and tired as no other. I was so glad to see you guys still fill it up. Please keep doing this, it helped me out a lot. Also, please pray that I get a job very soon so I can get back on my feet.
