Dear Lovejoy Community:
As you know, we have a renewed focus on safety and security.
Lovejoy High School Graduation is scheduled for 10:00 AM at the Allen Event Center (AEC) on Saturday, June 2nd. We have been using the AEC since 2010, as it is a convenient and excellent venue for high school graduation. The AEC offers a security package used at their hockey games, which we have not contracted for in past years. This year, we have chosen to utilize their services, which employ metal detectors at all entrances. Additionally, security personnel will be present at all entrances. Please know this action is based upon an abundance of caution, and we have no knowledge of any credible threats. Where safety is concerned, the proactive approach is always desirable.

to read the AEC's information guide. As the metal detectors may slow your entry into the facility, it is recommended that you allow additional time to ensure you are seated prior to graduation beginning.
Following is a list of AEC prohibited items:
- Outside food or beverages
- Illegal drugs of any kind
- The AEC is a smoke-free facility
- Coolers, bottles, or cans (items for children such as baby formula or bottles are allowed)
- Weapons of any kind (Penal Code 30.06 and 30.07)
- Banners and signs exceeding 3ft. x 5ft.
- Pets (service animals are welcome in the AEC)
- Wrapped gifts
- Tripods, monopods, selfie sticks, bull horns, air horns
