Sing-alongs, finger plays, puppets and more! For kids ages 0-3 with a caregiver. No registration necessary. Not a drop off.  
 
Thursday, June 7, 14, 21, 28 at 12:30 p.m. Lunch Bunch. Bring along a picnic lunch and enjoy stories and a craft. All ages. No registration necessary. Not a drop off. (Starting June 28th Lunch Bunch will be moving to Emery Park at 12 noon)
 
Thursday, June 7 at 3:30 p.m. Afterschool Buddies. Younger kids will be paired up with older TAB kids to have an awesome afternoon playing games and doing crafts. Please Register. Not a drop off for kids under 10, parents must stay in the building but do not need to be a part of the program.
 
Saturday, June 9 at 10:30 a.m. Special Fishing Story Hour. Ages 2-7. Come for some stories about fishing, a snack, and a craft.

  Saturday, June 9 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Warblers in Kent: A Closer Look. Join Laurie Doss of Marvelwood School for a basic program about the birds of Kent for adults aged 13 and up. Learn how to identify warbler species common to Kent by sight & sound, learn about various bird apps/recording software to make identifying birds by sight and/or song a little easier, and a brief discussion on how to enhance habitat for birds . Kent Town Hall, 41 Kent Green Blvd., Kent. Please Register.
 
Sunday, June 10 from 7:00 to 8:30 a.m. Birds & Bagels. You must register to j oin Kent Land Trust and Laurie Doss for Birds & Bagels. Apply your knowledge from Saturday's Warbler Workshop to identify birds in the field near the entry to Skiff Mountain South Preserve. Bagels and yogurt will be served by the Kiosk to the preserve. During breakfast, participants will identify by sight and/or sound. Extra binoculars will be available for participants who do not bring their own. Mist nets located on Kent Land Trust and Marvelwood School property will also be set-up to band birds and collect physiological evidence of breeding. Participants will help collect data for the Connecticut Bird Atlas Project and listen for warblers common to early successional areas such as the Common Yellowthroat, Chestnut-sided Warbler and Yellow Warbler. At the end of the program there will be an opportunity to see the breeding colony of Purple Martins at Marvelwood School. Those interested in hiking after the program may venture out on their own to hike one of the four trails traversing Skiff Mountain South Preserve. It is best if participants wear long pants and socks to help protect against tick exposure. The use of insect repellent is also highly encouraged and will be available at the workshop.

Their contributions and leadership are central to the future well being of our own country and the world. The United Nations has identified issues relating to women in its 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. Art Exhibit: KAA-95 More Years by Members of Kent Art Association. The exhibit runs from May 7 through June 29.
   
2018 Car Raffle. The Kent Memorial will raffle a pristine 2003 BMW Z4 Roadster in a fund raising raffle project starting on Memorial Day. The sterling grey convertible has very low mileage, and includes five speed manual transmission, fuel injection, 2.5 liter, 184 horsepower and a six-cylinder engine. Tickets are $20. Raffle tickets are being sold in the Library and during the annual Library Book Sale. The car will be parked in front of the Library. The winning ticket will be drawn on at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 28 at the conclusion of the 42nd Annual Kent Pumpkin Run. Information is available on the Library's website. Ticket holders need not be present to win.

2018 Book Sale. Every Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Our outdoor annual book sale carries a wide range of books, including many current best sellers, mysteries, biographies, art history, to name a few; the book sale caters to all interests. (the sale is weather permitting, if in doubt, call the Library.) All proceeds benefit the Kent Memorial Library.  
 
Chess. Our chess boards and tables, inside and out are open to young and old, beginners to advanced. Team combinations are encouraged - for instance, grandparent and parent-child, co-workers, friends. All are welcome to use our chess equipment.
 
Kent Library Association Membership. For more information about joining the Kent Library Association, please ask at the front desk or go to the Library's website and click on "KLA Membership." Join or renew your KLA membership online. There are many benefits to becoming a KLA member.
