New Development Brings Jobs and Capital Investment to Tower Road Corridor

Becknell Industrial has purchased a 38.8-acre site in Nexus at DIA near East 81st Avenue and Tower Road. The company plans to build a 540,800-square-foot industrial facility on the site which brings more jobs and capital investment to the Tower Road corridor. Haier US Appliance Solutions, a Chinese company that recently bought GE Appliances, has leased a 351,520-square-foot space in the building. As Haier US Appliance Solutions is one of the largest appliance suppliers in the United States, the facility will be used by the company for distribution of household appliances. The remaining 189,280 square-feet will be available for lease. The building is scheduled for completion in January 2019. Find out more about the purchase in the official press release.
Event Showcases Adams County to National Site Selection Professionals

Commerce City's Economic Development Division joins Adams County Economic Development (ACED) and other Adams County economic development professionals to host national site selection professionals for a three-day summit July 17-19, 2018. In its second year, the summit is a way to promote the region as an ideal location for corporate relocation and expansion projects. Businesses and individuals will also be able to attend the Summit's final breakfast Thursday July 19. The breakfast will be a chance to have the site selectors share their feedback on the strengths of the North Metro area, challenges the local communities may face and how best to elicit more business relocations or expansions in Adams County. Opportunities Available on City's Boards and Commissions

For anyone looking to get involved on a board or commission there are several opportunities with current vacancies. Openings include one on the Capital Improvement Program Advisory Committee and three on the Derby Review Board. Members of the Capital Improvement Projects Citizen Advisory Committee advise the city on issues relating to the implementation of Ballot Issue 2K and members of the Derby Review Board interpret and apply design guidelines to the Derby neighborhood. Openings are also available on the Citizens Public Safety Advisory Board, Cultural Council, Parks, Recreation and Golf Advisory Board, and Quality Community Foundation. North Range Weight Loss hosted a Grand Opening with ribbon cutting on May 18. In business since the beginning of the year, North Range Weight Loss is a wellness center that offers Ideal Protein, a weight loss and management program with one-on-one coaching that helps clients change their lifestyles to manage their ideal weight. A Good Shop

A Good Shop, 7350 Highway 2, hosted an open house and ribbon cutting on May 8. A Good Shop is a full service collision repair and paint facility that offers frame, alignment, and suspension repair services. The facility opened in Northglenn in 2005 and has operated under the name of A Good Shop since 2010. The owner, Alan Sturm, expanded operations with a second location in Commerce City in October 2016. Welcome to Commerce City, A Good Shop!
