We have been notified of the May 21, 2018 death of Ida Anita (Turner) McKenney, 81, beloved wife of the Rev. Deacon Walter McKenney for over 46 years. Ida passed away peacefully at St. Mary's Home, in West Hartford, Connecticut. Ida was a long-time member of St. Monica's Church, Hartford, and the Union of Black Episcopalians. 

Ida is survived by her husband, Walter; daughters, Bonni and Iris McKenney; sons, Randy and Walter and his wife Mariam. She is also survived by her sisters, Bessie Murphy, Rebbie Warren and her husband Samuel, Dorothy Williams and her husband John, Jean Butler and her husband Bernard, Evonia Manson, and her brother, Dave Turner and his wife Freda. Ida leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

A celebration of Ida's life will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Church Cathedral, 45 Church Street, Hartford. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the charity of your choice in Ida A.
