Hello fellow campers,

My back surgery went well, but it is a long and slow recovery process. I want to thank everybody who wrote to wish me well.

Memorial Day weekend is an American holiday to observe and honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

It is also viewed as the unofficial start to summer. Hopefully you made campground reservations and were able to take an RV trip over the long weekend. We enjoyed Memorial Day weekend in our 5th wheel trailer at the beach. We are looking forward to another summer camping season.

When June arrives the summer heat is not far behind. For RV owners that means making sure you and your RV are prepared for the heat. To help you prepare, check out this month's feature video, titled  Ten Tips for Hot Weather RVing

Enjoy the newsletter, and if you have family or friends who like RVs and the RV lifestyle share with them.

Happy Camping in 2018.

How much water should I add to my RV Battery?

Checking the water level in lead-acid battery cells on a regular basis can extend the life of your RV batteries. The more a battery is used and/or charged the more water evaporates from the cells. I recommend checking the water level monthly and after each RV trip. If you leave the RV plugged in, constantly charging the battery you should check the water levels bi-monthly.
Trailer Tire Tip
Question:
What does ST tire mean? Is ST different from LT or P tires?

Answer:
ST tire designation: ST stands for 'Special Trailer' tires, LT stands for 'Light Truck' tires and P stands for 'Passenger' tires. ST tires are constructed for use on trailer axle positions only. They are not designed for the load or traction requirements of a drive or steering axle on other vehicles. ST tires have strengthened sidewalls to prevent the tire from rolling under the rim in. ST tires feature materials and construction designed to meet the higher load requirements and demands trailer towing puts on a tire. T hat is the basic difference between ST tires and P or LT tires. If you want to learn more about ST tires  click here to read my article.
