BMES Annual Meeting:
Now accepting abstracts

BMES is now accepting abstracts for the 2020 BMES Annual Meeting. 

The 2020 Annual Meeting will be held October 14-17 in San Diego. 

The deadline to submit an abstract is April 30. 

The meeting will feature high-level keynote talks, multiple networking opportunities each day, career sessions and much more.

BMES accepting nominations for 
2020/2021 awards

BMES is now accepting application and nominations for the Society's annual awards.

Many of the awards include an honorarium, travel reimbursement to the Annual Meeting, free registration to the meeting and more.

DEADLINE to submit a nomination/application: May 15, 2020.


ABioM Annual Meeting registration open

Registration is now open for the Advanced Biomanufacturing Annual Meeting.

The ABioM Conference will take place March 30 to April 1, 2020 in College Park, MD.
 
The theme of the 2020 conference is " Accelerating Advanced Biomanufacturing Through Discovery to Implementation."

WEBINAR: Interview with Industry

A new BMES webinar series - Interview with Industry - launches this month with a Q&A session with AbbVie Inc. Associate Director Hetal Sarvaiya. 

Interview with Industry is a monthly webinar designed to help students navigate their careers after academia. The inaugural webinar will take place February 28 at noon EST.

Call for 2020 BMES Coulter College team applications now open

This August, BMES will partner with industry to convene BMES Coulter College for a third time at Medtronic in Minneapolis, Minnesota. 

BMES Coulter College is a training program focused on translation of biomedical innovations that is funded through a grant from the Wallace H. Coulter Foundation. 

We are looking for dedicated teams to participate in this exciting program and invite biomedical engineering departments to submit a team application. BMES Coulter College will take place from August 6-9, 2020.

FDA to hold public workshop about modeling & simulation practices used in health technology

The Food and Drug Administration will hold a public workshop entitled "Towards Good Simulation Practices in Health Technologies." 

The meeting will be held April 13-15, 2020

The purpose of the public workshop is to discuss modeling and simulation practices currently used in health technologies by industry and to develop a framework for evaluating and assessing the utility of computational modeling and simulation in health technologies, according to FDA.
