MSA Safety announced the election, by the MSA Board of Directors, of Bob Leenen to the 
position of President, MSA International.  Mr. Leenen, 44, succeeds Ronald N. Herring, Jr., 
who will be retiring from the company in October. 






Protective  equipment and safety device manufacturer Scott Safety is preparing to launch 
its $12.5 million partnership with California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection 
(CAL FIRE). The company is readying its support of the nation's third
largest  firefighting organization and its 5,600 full-time firefighters through equipment 
production and in-service  training.

Honeywell, a global leader in safety products, has donated nearly 50,000 pieces of personal protective equipment to support volunteer emergency personnel digging through the rubble of city buildings toppled by the 7.1-magnitude earthquake.

 
Celebrating the 40th anniversary of its foundation here, 3M Korea said it will seek new 
business models using data analytics to better understand customers' needs, especially 
in the health and safety sector.

 
Engineers at McGill University have developed 'fish-scale' armoured gloves which they 
claim are impenetrable. The ceramic-covered gloves are designed to replicate the thick, 
protective skin of fish such as bass and are being targeted at the PPE market. 


SGS is accredited as a Notified Body (NB) for the new European Union (EU) Personal 
Protective Equipment (PPE) Regulation in the UK. The new PPE Regulation, (EU) 2016/425, replaces Directive 89/686/EEC.
