Join us on Sunday, June 3rd from 2-4 pm for the reception!

Delicious snacks, stimulating conversation, and a mini workshop for making
wearble items from trash!!!!  Bring the children.

In celebration of the 150th birthday of the City of Watsonville, members of Pajaro Valley Arts will be exploring the idea of how our community nourishes our body, our soul, our imagination and our art.  In this all media show, you can expect to see a wide range of creative, and perhaps surprising local interpretations of
What Nourishes Us. Curated by Jane Gregorius, Mary Neeter, Carol Wallberg and Susan Matulich, the exhibit includes the work of over 70 members who have created in media including fiber, ceramic, glass, painting, collage, metal, and sculpture

Consider celebrating Open Streets Watsonville on June 3rd before you join us at the  reception. Brennan Street will be closed to car traffic from 11:00 - 4:00.

FROM CONTAINERS TO COUTURE

Join us from 2:00-4:00 for a free workshop WITH KATHLEEN CROCETTI
at the Opening Reception for "What Nourishes Us."

A lot of what nourishes us comes with large and often complicated packaging. Kathleen Crocetti, one of Santa Cruz's most creative, professional, inspirational and public artists, will help us figure out how to up-cycle trash into fashion. Kathleen, who teaches art at Mission Hills Junior High, has been instrumental in putting together "Fashion Teens Santa Cruz" where students make clothing out of unconventional materials. At our opening reception workshop, anyone attending can participate in turning trash into embellishments to attach to a dress to create a community item of couture. Kathleen will show us how to fashion our bling and fasten it
to an existing dress. Who knows, if we are creative enough, maybe it will walk the runway at one of Santa Cruz's Fashion Art shows!
