CSI Surgical Technology Students Participate in Global Community Service
Fourth semester Surgical Technology students have been fundraising in order to pay for their travel to Las Vegas so they could participate in some global community service. Last week the group teamed up with "Clean the World Foundation" to make and package soap to be distributed to communities around the world who are in need. The soap they made will go to Texas and Florida and around the world to where people need it, but can't afford it.

The process includes students taking small pieces of soap left in hotels and sterilizing it, grinding it, and then making it into new bars. After the soap is completed it is distributed. This is an awesome opportunity for Surgical Technology students who will eventually be making a living by scrubbing their hands/arms with surgical soap for surgery. The CSI Surgical Technology program would like to thank everyone who participated in their fundraisers to make this opportunity possible.

Traumatic Brain Injury Group
College of Southern Idaho student Michael Howell announces the development of the 'Traumatic Brain Injury Group'. Howell's objective is to provide informational sessions, speakers, and other local resources to those suffering from traumatic brain injury. Howell noticed a lack of community resources for those who have experienced this type of injury after being in an ATV accident that led to brain injuries of his own. He is looking forward to helping others in the community who are in need.

Individuals of all injury levels are welcome and encouraged to attend the group meetings, which will be held from 7 to 9 PM the first Tuesday of each month beginning October 3 in room 276 of CSI's Taylor building. This room is handicap accessible.
