Jamie Johnson Selected to Lead Network
in the Role of President

The Indiana Afterschool Network (IAN) today announced that Jamie Johnson has been selected to lead IAN in the role of President. Jamie's passion for connecting school day learning with out-of-school time quality programming led her to join the Indiana Afterschool Network as Vice President in 2012. Jamie brings more than 20 years of youth serving experience to her new role which begins September 22, 2017.

"The IAN board is excited to work with Jamie in this new capacity. She is deeply committed to our work and understands the value of high quality out of school time programming for youth and families. She is the best person to lead our organization at this stage in our development," said Dan Diehl, IAN Board Chair.

IAN is helping to transform learning beyond the school day so that Indiana youth and families have access to high quality afterschool and summer programs. At the heart of these programs are the youth professionals who work every day to foster individual strengths, expand opportunities and to amplify successes.

"It is my honor to serve as the next president and I look forward to continuing the momentum and success that IAN has had over the past few years. With a strong and accomplished team and dedicated partners, IAN will continue to build on its legacy and impact," said Johnson.

Jamie currently lives in Carmel with her husband, Patrick and son, Sasha. She started her career as a high school English teacher and later served as an Assistant Principal focusing on curriculum and instruction. Her commitment to quality education and innovation led her to Walt Disney Development as the Director of Curriculum and Learning where she served as the liaison between the innovation school and corporate initiatives. In 2002, Jamie moved to Indiana and worked as Chief Creative Officer for Inquisitive Kids, an educational nonprofit that provided over 70,000 free resources to schools and afterschool programs. She has been an educational consultant for the Indiana Department of Education, Learn More Indiana, College Mentors for Kids, and other youth serving organizations. IAN conducted an open search process led by Bryan Orander of Charitable Advisors and a search committee from June to September. Feedback provided by staff, partners, and board members guided the process.
