Information for Individuals, Families and Guardians
Recently, we have been receiving a number of questions pertaining to the Coronavirus, or COVID-19.

Our agency is closely monitoring the situation regarding the Coronavirus and we continue to rely on guidelines from the National Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the Ohio Department of Health, and the Medina County Health Department when making any decisions. At this time, no cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Ohio. If the current situation changes and decisions need to be made, we will make them based upon the guidelines and recommendations of the trained professionals in these organizations.
We realize COVID-19 may spread in the coming weeks and may have an effect on daily routines in our community, our schools and businesses. Our administration and staff have reviewed our plans and responses if a situation arises in which our agency may need to close. Additionally, we remain extremely vigilant on all our cleaning and prevention protocols, such as wiping down high-touch surfaces using approved disinfectants.
As you know, everyone plays an important role in preventing the spread of COVID-19 and other illnesses. The best defense against the spread of respiratory viruses, including Coronavirus and influenza, is prevention and planning. Here are the Ohio Department of Health recommendations to help reduce the risk of infection for illnesses, such as flu.

  • Wash your hands for 20 seconds or more with soapy water. If unavailable, use hand sanitizer.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home while you are sick (except to visit a health care professional) and avoid contact with others. Keeping individuals home when they are sick is critical to the prevention of spreading any illness. A person needs to be fever-free for 24 hours without medication before returning to any outside settings after any illness.
  • Cover your mouth/nose with a tissue or sleeve when coughing or sneezing.
  • Get adequate sleep and eat well-balanced meals to ensure a healthy immune system.
As always, the health, safety and well-being of our individuals, students and staff remain our top priorities. We will continue to communicate additional information, if needed, in the days ahead. If you have any questions, please contact our Superintendent Stacey Maleckar at 330-725-7751 ext. 224. Thank you for your continued support of our agency.
