SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Dear Lycée Community,
I hope that today’s newsletter finds you and your families in good health and high spirits, despite the personal and professional challenges we are all living on a daily basis.
We would like to bring to your attention our COVID-19 Grading and Retention Policy  for the Patton and Johnson Campus. This document will also be linked in our COVID-19 webpage for easy reference.
Many of you have asked how you can help. First of all, our gratitude for your commitment to the school. One easy way you can help today is completing the 2020-21 INTENT TO RETURN TO LYCEE - SURVEY . Having accurate roster counts will be of great assistance to us in planning for the 2020-21 school year. Thank you to all of you who have already done this.

I would also like to thank all individuals and organizations that continue to support our school and its growth. Thank you to all who allowed us to keep the Nuit de la Musique ticket payment as a donation, and to all for your continued contributions to our capital campaign. A huge thank you to the Charter School Growth Fund, Walton Family Foundation and New School for New Orleans for their support (either financial or professional) as we try, together, to answer new questions and tackle unfamiliar problems.
We are more and more missing you and our students and sincerely hope to be back together again soon.

Stay safe and healthy,
Marina

Online Registration/Re-enrollment Details
In early May, you will receive an email with online registration details. Enrollment paperwork will be completed though PowerSchool. This new and improved process will help streamline our information collection as we already use PowerSchool for our student information system. Please be advised that paperwork completion may take longer than in previous years. Thank you in advance for understanding. This system will help us accurately update information to better serve our students and families.

If you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to reach out to Nicki Kristol, Coordinator of Admissions & Enrollment ( nkristol@lfno.org ).
Exceptional Student Services
The Special Education Advisory Council is excited to announce the development of a community learning series for families of all students. The goal of this learning series is to share information and resources and learn together in a collaborative space to strengthen our collective community. The council invites you to share your interest in attending topical sessions and provide feedback into other learning opportunities you would like to experience by taking this survey by Friday, May 1 . All Lycée families are invited to participate in this survey.

The first session in this learning series has been rescheduled to Friday, May 1 at 1:30PM. If you are interested in attending, please email Jamela Dermish at jdermish@lfno.org for the conference link. This session will be recorded and uploaded to the ESS section of www.lfno.org/ess/ so it can be accessed at a later date and at your convenience.

Catherine Sample, speech therapist, certified autism specialist, and assistive technology specialist will present on assistive technology terms and solutions. This presentation will discuss tools, implementation, and modeling techniques to support children with communication challenges, challenging behaviors & emotional disturbances.

The 28th Annual Cox Inspirational Heroes Awards and Recognition Ceremony has been canceled but we are still committed to recognizing these heroes! The Cox Inspirational Student Heroes are recognized for having made overwhelming achievements despite their physical, emotional, psychological or social challenges faced on a daily basis. This year our winner is Ja'Leai, a student who exhibits extraordinary resiliency, a positive attitude and is committed to her studies.
