Sing praises to the Lord, O you his saints,
and give thanks to his holy name.
For his anger is but for a moment,
and his favor is for a lifetime.
Weeping may tarry for the night,
but joy comes with the morning.

How can I be praying for INSTE?

INSTE Groups Affected by the Coronavirus
|
|
With the global spread of COVID-19 and governments drastically limiting group sizes, maintaining the small group dynamic of INSTE has become difficult. Many groups have had to transition to online means of communication. Today, we
praise God for blessing us with modern technology. Without modern technology, most groups would not be able to meet. Please
pray for group leaders and students to be able to easily transition to this source of communication instead.

Students in INSTE come from all walks of life. Many of our students and group leaders have jobs in the health sector. The rise of COVID-19 has led to many healthcare providers having to work on end. Please
pray for all of the healthcare providers of INSTE. May their work
bring glory to God, may each stay
safe and healthy in these times, and we pray that these selfless healthcare providers might be able to
return to their studies with great ease.

"Coronavirus is impacting everyone, but we ask that you
pray for our INSTE France leadership
as several of them are in the center of the worst affected areas in France."

"We admire the ingenuity, adaptability and flexibility of our INSTE group leaders and students! Many are coming up with creative ways to continue meeting with their INSTE groups via videoconferencing. This is important as INSTE is a means for keeping believers firmly rooted in the Word of God during these extremely uncertain times.
"Group leaders, please feel free to
contact us
if you have any questions about how to move forward with your group or if you would like help transitioning your group to online exams.
"Please especially
pray for our students and group leaders in New York and California
, the hardest hit parts of the country with COVID-19."
Lois McCarty
,
Registrar at Inste Global

"They read from the book, from the law of God, translating to give it sense so that they understood the reading."
Nehemiah 8:8, New American Standard Bible
"Translation of the INSTE courses into Chinese has been an arduous task. Currently we have translators diligently working on Christology, Theology/Pneumatology and the Level 2 Distance Leader’s Training (DLT) Manual. The expected completion date for these books is the end of June 2020. With the completion, all the Level 2 books of Sequences 1-3 and three of the 12 courses of Sequences 4-6 would have been translated. Nine books remain to be translated to complete the full set of 28 books. The average cost of translating each book is $3,000 and it takes 4-6 months to complete.

"Currently, there is about $20,000 in the Chinese Development Fund. Out of that, about $9,000 would be expended for the on-going translations. Translation into Chinese is made more complicated because in mainland China, the simplified font is used, whereas outside of China, such as in Taiwan, the traditional font is used. Depending on where the translator is located, she or he will use one of the fonts. Up to this point, the conversion from one font to the other, when needed, had been done in-house by the INSTE Chinese ministry.

"We are entering into a critical phase of the translation effort. More than ever, there are clear indications that this type of systematic and in-depth theological education and training is very much needed in the Chinese-speaking world.
We thank the Lord for giving us godly and gifted translators. Please
pray that God will provide additional funds of approximately $30,000 necessary to complete this important task. This is only the beginning; plans are underway to eventually make these courses available in Chinese online."
Ricky Poon,
Academic Dean of Chinese Ministries
If you would like to help fund the translation work, please
send a check to the Inste Global office in Ankeny, Iowa, or give
online, designating your gift for the
Chinese Development Fund. Thank you!
