Aloha ,
With graduation season taking place this month, I would like to congratulate the residents who are celebrating the finale of a chapter in their life!   For those who are commemorating ʻohana and loved ones graduating, I also share your joy and excitement with you.

As many of our residents are now experiencing the transition from one journey into another, I highly encourage our graduates to take advantage of an opportunity taking place next month:

The 6th Annual Hire Leeward Job and Career Fair is taking place on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at the University of Hawai'i - West O'ahu campus from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

With the theme of " Connecting Leeward Residents with Leeward Jobs ", the fair will host over 60 businesses and organizations offering a wide range of Leeward-based job opportunities including: healthcare, financial services, food service, hospitality, retail, administrative, and more.

I am also proud to announce that for the second consecutive year, the Presenting Sponsor of the Hire Leeward Fair is Ko Olina Resort, whose partners, including Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, Four Seasons Resort O'ahu at Ko Olina, Marriott's Ko Olina Beach Club and Ko Olina Golf Club, will be looking to fill immediate positions.

According to Ko Olina, future developments at the 642-acre resort are expected to generate an additional 27,300 jobs on the Leeward coast.  The resort will have an estimated 31,800 permanent jobs at full build-out.
By partnering with Hire Leeward, Ko Olina hopes to connect West O'ahu residents with current and future hospitality career opportunities.
Councilmember Pine is proud to partner with the Kapolei Chamber of Commerce to host the annual Leeward job fair.  For the second consecutive year, the Presenting Sponsor of the Hire Leeward Fair is Ko Olina Resort.

Attendees can get priority and complimentary entrance into the Fair by registering online.  For more information on the Hire Leeward initiative and the Fair, job seekers are encouraged to visit www.HireLeeward.com.

If you're a Leeward employer and would like to participate in this year's fair, we are accepting registrations until June 6, 2018.  To register as an employee, click here.
