Price Transparency Bill Gets Gov's Signature

Dayton Expected to Approve APCD Use for the Long-Term
Awaiting Gov. Dayton's likely signature is a unanimously passed bill that extends the authority for the Minnesota Department of Health to use the All-Payer Claims Database for health care costs, quality, utilization and illness analysis. Read more here
MMA Encourages Prescribers to Comply with the Law, Sign up with PMP
Following an embarrassing investigative report by KSTP-TV that found that thousands of prescribers are out of compliance with Minnesota statute, the MMA is encouraging all physicians with DEA numbers to sign up for the state's Prescription Monitoring Program. Read more here

Doctors' Lounge in Twin Cities a Big Success
Nearly 70 physicians and physicians-in-training gathered in St. Paul on May 23 to discuss the recent legislative session and to network with peers at the MMA's Doctors' Lounge. The next Lounge will take place June 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the DoubleTree in Rochester. The events are free. For more information, click here
Students & Residents Encouraged to Submit Posters for Annual Conference
Medical students and residents are encouraged to submit their work by June 15 for the 2018 Annual Conference poster symposium taking place Sept. 21 at the St. Paul RiverCentre. The winning submission will receive up to $500. Read more here
Nominations Open for 2018 MMA Annual Awards
Members are encouraged to nominate their peers, medical students and advocacy champions for one of MMA's four annual awards: Distinguished Service Award, President's Award, Medical Student Leadership Award and James H. Sova Memorial Award for Advocacy. Deadline: June 29. Read more here
