3 reasons to take ADVRT / P R 301 online this summer
If you're thinking about taking a class this summer,  ADVRT / P R 301: Research and Strategic Planning for Advertising and Public Relations may be a good option for you! Here's why:

1>>
Get ahead even while you’re away.
Summer is a great time to focus on a course that’s required for your advertising or public relations major. The only prerequisite is P R 220 or ADVRT 230 (not JL MC 201). (It's also a required course for the advertising minor and one of the elective options for the public relations minor.)

2>>
Work at your own pace with two-week modules.
This class was designed for an online format from the start, making it flexible for those who have summer jobs or other commitments.

3>>
Enhance your research skills and your portfolio.
The project is focused on campaign development for Target. You’ll research consumer perception and behaviors, conduct a social media analysis, develop a creative concept and create campaign ideas for your portfolio.

ADVRT/P R 301 runs May 18 through July 10. For more info,  see the Iowa State course catalog.

5/18/20 – 7/10/20
Instructor: Michael Wigton
Prerequisites: PR 220 or ADVRT 230

Enhance your skills through Greenlee's grad program
Are you thinking about grad school? The Greenlee School is still accepting applications for Fall 2020.

The  Greenlee master’s program is a 32-credit course of study culminating in a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in journalism and mass communication.

Two tracks are available: one for students who desire specialized study in communication theory and research and one for students who wish to develop or strengthen their professional and strategic communication skills.
  • The theory and research track prepares students to use and contribute to research and scholarship in the field of mass communication. The degree requires a thesis based on original research.

  • The professional and strategic track prepares students for professional careers in a variety of mass communication fields. Areas of professional specialization include journalism writing and reporting for traditional/new media, visual communication, advertising and public relations. The degree requires completing and defending a creative component: a practical application of theory and expertise.
Within the master’s program, you will explore new ideas through a flexible curriculum that can be tailored to your individual interests and program of study. We will challenge your thinking and deepen your expertise to prepare you for a successful future.
See the  application requirements. The GRE can currently be completed through  at-home testing.
