Probable COVID-19 Cases Related to Calhoun County Jail
On Thursday, April 23, the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office and Public Health Department were notified that a corrections staff member showed symptoms of COVID-19 and is a probable case. This corrections deputy does not have responsibilities that involved direct contact with inmates and is self-isolating at home.

Also on April 23, an inmate was admitted with COVID-19 symptoms, including elevated temperature. This was identified immediately during the intake process and all precautions were put in place. The subject was placed in a medical negative pressure isolation cell and tested. This is being treated as a probable case and results are pending.

There is no connection between these two cases.

The Calhoun Count y Jail is diligent in protecting the health of corrections staff and inmates. It will to work closely with the Public Health Department to mitigate spread.
