National Summit to End Corporal Punishment
in the United States - S ponsored by
The New York Foundling and APSAC
On October 12 and 13, 2017, the Vincent J. Fontana Center for Child Protection of the New York Foundling and APSAC co-sponsored the National Summit to End Corporal Punishment in the United States. The Summit brought together the leading national experts and researchers in the areas of corporal punishment and violence to children, representatives from national professional organizations and social change experts. The goals of the Summit were to develop a national strategy to end corporal punishment, create the framework for a national public health campaign and conceptualize the framework for a coordinating body to train professional staff, educate parents and disseminate information about evidence-based parent programs. The Summit was a huge success and a transition committee is being formed to implement the recommendations coming out of the Summit.

Do you work for a university offering programs in Child Maltreatment?

APSAC is creating an on-line, searchable database of academic programs with a focus on child maltreatment.   Like APSAC' s membership, the database is intended to be multidisciplinary, allowing users to search across states, professional schools, departments, and degree types. In order to populate this database, we're asking for your help. Please complete this survey for programs where you hold a faculty or administrative position.  Students are asked to pass this survey along to a program chair.  This is a great opportunity to share information about your program with the thousands of people who visit the APSAC website. Please complete one survey for each program type as well as each credential offered. If you have any questions, please email Bri Stormer.
