Domestic Violence Awareness Month Turns 30! #DVAMturns30
Thirty years ago this awareness initiative was launched as a way to connect and unite individuals and organizations working toward the same goal. Over the last three decades, much progress has been made to support domestic violence victims, to hold abusers accountable, and to create and update legislation to further the cause.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE FACTS:
* Every 9 seconds in the US a woman is assaulted or beaten.
* 1 in 7 women has been stalked and feared for her safety.
* The presence of a gun in a domestic violence situation increases the risk of homicide by 500%.
* 72% of all murder-suicides involve an intimate partner, 94% of those victims are female.
