Deal of the Year Awardees: City of St. Petersburg and Pinellas County
City of St. Petersburg Economic Development and Pinellas County Economic Development were the winners of the Florida Economic Development Council’s 2018 Deal of the Year Award for outstanding achievement in the expansion of a business in the State of Florida. The collaborative team was recognized by the Florida Economic Development Council for facilitating Jabil’s construction of a new worldwide headquarters in Pinellas County, a project that will bring Jabil’s 2,000 local employees onto one cohesive campus in St. Petersburg, and is projected to create 300 new jobs.

City releases request for proposal (RFP) for development of city-owned property located within the Innovation District
Notice is hereby given, that the CITY OF ST. PETERSBURG ("City") invites proposals from qualified persons or entities interested in developing the city-owned property located at the Southwest corner of 4th Street South and 11th Avenue South, St. Petersburg, Florida, in the City's Innovation District.

Additional information is included in the Request For Proposal document which can be obtained by visiting www.stpete.org/realestate and following the appropriate link under "Requests for Proposal / Solicitations".
St. Pete recognized as the highest rated city in Florida for bicyclist
PlacesForBikes is a People For Bikes program to develop, connect and celebrate great places to ride. It offers a data-driven approach to identifying the best U.S. towns for bicycling. Of the 485 cities recently evaluated, St. Petersburg was rated 22nd in the nation overall and 11th in the United States for the pace at which conditions are improving for bicyclists (Acceleration Category). Keep Cruisin', St. Pete!

New St. Pete Pier's second anchor restaurant announced
The Canopy on beach drive is currently the only rooftop restaurant in downtown St. Pete overlooking Downtown's waterfront with views across the bay...for now. Chuck Prather, owner of the Birchwood hotel and Canopy rooftop bar, has announced plans for a three-story restaurant and bar at the new St. Pete Pier head building. The Driftwood Cafe for casual food and ice cream will be located on the lawn level, a full-size restaurant, Teak, will be a couple levels up, and Pier Teaki, a rooftop bar, on top. Exciting news for the new Pier!
Coming Soon: New restaurants are preparing to open in St. Pete
Zoes Kitchen - a fast-casual restaurant serving fresh, quick-serve Mediterranean dishes, is continuing its expansion in the Tampa Bay area and will be opening its St. Pete location in June at 1320 4th St N.

Trophy Fish - Local mastermind Ryan Griffin of Mandarin Hide and partners Blake Thompson and Bill Griffin,officially open Friday June 1st at 2060 Central Ave. The concept is fresh-from-the-gulf seafood and nautically inspired cocktails. Trophy Fish will be a the second 2017 Commercial Grant Revitalization Program recipient to complete their project and will receive $50,000 in reimbursements for the project that has generated 21 new jobs.

Oak & Stone - Located at 199 Central Ave next to the new Hyatt Place Hotel, Oak & Stone expects to open in June and will be serving up wood-fired pizzas mated with a self-serve beer wall highlighting regional craft beers.

Ford's Garage - The sports bar and restaurant that replaced the Rowdies Den and Mid-Town Sundries is now open at 200 1st Ave S. It includes Yeoman's Cast and Lion , an attached ultra-modern pub that is extraordinarily spacious, and full of eclectic pop art and memorabilia .

SHINE is an art project that illuminates the power of art in public spaces by revitalizing areas, inspiring dialogue and uniting our community—while cultivating new standards of artistic excellence and reflecting St. Petersburg’s creative and vibrant spirit.

The St. Pete Arts Alliance is currently looking for spaces to participate in this year's SHINE Mural Festival. There is no charge to participate, however, it is up to the artists to choose the design.

Developer of Station House is nearing completion of office suites in historic Green-Richman Arcade
Developer of Station House, Steven Gianfilippo, is nearing completion of the historic Green Richman Arcade alteration at 689 Central Avenue. The building that once served as a shopping arcade in the 1920s has been redesigned as office space holding 15 suites for today's modern workers. A retail tenant to fill 1,000 square -foot space is expected to be announced in the upcoming weeks. Station House Arcade will soon begin marketing the 15 office suites and a 3,500 square-foot space on the second floor.

Skyway Plaza - Opportunities & Food Truck Festival
Neighborhoods of southern St. Petersburg and the City of St. Petersburg have come together to host a food truck festival on Saturday, June 9, from noon to 5:00 p.m. at the  Skyway Plaza shopping center . This family oriented festival will have ten food trucks serving both savory and sweet items, an entertainment stage, and informational tables on community services and businesses.

The Skyway Plaza shopping center located at 1079 62nd Avenue S  has several storefronts available, ranging from 600 square feet to over 46,000 square feet. Brixmor Properties will be at the event to provide information on leasing opportunities.
