Alumni News and Events
What's happening at HF?

On this anniversary of the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center, we remember those who's lives were lost or changed that day, and pray for those still grieving the loss of a loved one.

Fall 2015 is off to a great start here on campus. We welcomed the 3rd largest freshmen class in University history - 350 students! The Class of 2019 was accompanied on their first day of classes by the locally famous Pope Bot (recap below). Zumba returned this week and we are gearing up for next week's Food Truck Festival. In November, your Alumni Association Board is hosting their first fundraiser, a Quizzo night at Cannstatter. It will be a busy fall and we couldn't be more excited! Thanks for staying connected.

Please contact us at [email protected] with questions or feedback.

Pope Bot Recap
Social-media phenomenon "Pope Bot," started by the Philadelphia-based radio morning show Preston and Steve, has been traveling around Philadelphia and made a stop at Holy Family for the first day of classes. Pictures from Pope Bot's visit to campus are posted on Facebook. Sister Maureen, President of Holy Family, called into Preston and Steve during Pope Bot's visit. You can hear her conversation with WMMR via Youtube

World Meeting of Families
We are celebrating the World Meeting of Families here at Holy Family. A list of activities and events is available on our website.

Dr. Riley
Dr. Larry Riley, History professor at Holy Family from 1985 to 2000, who passed away recently. Please pray for the repose of his soul and the consolation of his family during this difficult time.

Lisa Vivino '96 shared her thoughts on the passing of Dr. Riley:
"Mentor, advisor, professor, friend and great debate partner... Dr. Riley was one of a kind and many of us learned so much from him and all of the life adventures he shared so willingly with us during his tenure at Holy Family. He gave of himself selflessly and we all reaped the benefits of that selflessness. He will be missed by so many. I can hear him arguing about Gilgamesh with St. Peter already..."

An obituary for Dr. Riley is posted on Philly.com.

Setting out to prevent patients from being harmed or killed by medical errors, she entered a world unknown to her-the health care industry. Sorrel King has become a nationally renowned patient safety advocate. As a public speaker she travels the country spreading her message to hospitals, doctors, nurses, CEOs, board members, medical/ nursing students and more in hopes that Josie's story will inspire change thus creating a better, safer healthcare industry for us all.
