IC CATHOLIC PREP | Principal's Dispatch
SPRING BREAK AND MORE.
Dear ICCP Families and Friends,

Here at IC Catholic Prep, learning never stops! Our electronic learning platform (e-Learning) began on Monday, March 16, 2020, under the watchful eyes of the ICCP Administration. We will take a break from e-Learning next week during our Spring Break and begin again on Monday, March 30, 2020.

Our faculty are working tirelessly to provide a seamless educational experience for our students. We're encouraged to hear that our Knights are doing an excellent job at staying connected with their teachers and completing their assignments. As parents and guardians, I cannot thank you enough for supporting our learning strategies and for ensuring that your Knights remain committed to their studies. I am so grateful to our dedicated faculty that are working diligently to provide creative and meaningful learning opportunities. We will continue to communicate regarding how e-Learning will impact fourth quarter grades as we receive further information on the length of school closures in Illinois. We are indeed blessed to be able to continue our educational mission during these trying times. Great job Knights!

And, to learn more about free internet access opportunities from AT&T, Spectrum, and Comcast, please visit www.isbe.net/keeplearning.

The Illinois Board of Education announced that this two week interruption will not need to be tacked on to the school year. While this is good news, it does not mean that our learning stops. Parents, you have invested in your child's education and we, at IC Catholic Prep honor that investment by providing challenging lessons for their continued educational growth.

When we return from Spring Break, IC Catholic Prep will continue to have an administrator available to serve our families during e-learning hours.

PLEASE NOTE: The building will be closed for any faculty, staff, students and parents from March 23-27, as we complete a deep cleaning of our buildings and facilities.

Please continue to follow the recommendations from the CDC and the Illinois Department of Public Health, especially in regards to social distancing and staying home to help contain the spread of COVID-19 .

I know that these are trying times for all of us. Please know that you are not alone. We're all walking through this period of uncertainty together. IC Catholic Prep has faced many challenges in its 84 years of existence. Monsignor Plunkett believed in the Providence of God. I pray that you do as well. Together, we will get to the other side. Please keep each other in your prayers and let us remember our sisters and brothers around the world and in our nation struggling with issues of health, mind and body.

May Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception continue to guide and protect you. Go Knights!

Sincerely,
Tom Schergen
