A Message from Rev. Maxted

Dear RRCC members and friends,

Blessings to you on this 33rd day of our 40-day Lenten journey.

Please take good care of yourself. Try to eat well, stay hydrated, get as much exercise as you can, and be sure you're limiting your exposure to news reports. A constant flow of alarming news and statistics can be anxiety-inducing and exhausting. If you're sheltering alone, don't hesitate to reach out to others through phone calls and texts and emails. If you're sheltering with someone, be nice! Be patient! They've got to put up with you just like you've got to put up with them!

And please continue, to the best of your ability, to practice strict social distancing. All the science points to this--the better we are about staying away from each other, the more manageable the medical response becomes. Staying away is now the loving thing to do. It saves lives and lessens the burden and risk for medical professionals and other essential workers.

Holy Week begins this Sunday, and our worship schedule can be found in the next box.  Our Maundy Thursday service will include a video-taped communion meditation from our Regional Minister, Dr. Andy Mangum, and on Easter we'll be hearing stories from some of you!

In the meantime, I urge you to c reate a special worship space for yourself at home, if you haven't already. Gather what is meaningful to you--perhaps a candle, your Bible, a devotional book, a cross. It's your own little sanctuary in your home.

You'll find the link to join this Sunday's worship service in the box immediately above this one. Look for the link next to the palm branches. Also, we'll re-send the link in another email shortly before worship beings on Sunday morning (around 10:30 a.m.). Use either one to connect to worship. They will be identical.

See you on Sunday!
Peace in Christ,
Pastor Mitch

Let everything that breathes praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord!

Helpful Guidance On Groceries During the Pandemic

Even while faithfully following the STAY HOME
STAY SAFE guidelines, we still need to eat! Obtaining groceries--whether that's in-store, curbside pick up, or home delivery--all carry some risk of contamination with the coronavirus. Click on the link below to view a 13-minutes view on how to greater reduce your risk of contamination in obtaining food. The presenter is a Michigan physician.

For many years, a faithful group of RRCC members have gathered at the church on Wednesday afternoons to pray. These prayer warriors pray for our members, their families, our neighborhood, our nation, and our world.

They continue to meet on Wednesday afternoons, but through Zoom video conference (just like we're doing worship now). Let Rev. Maxted know if you'd like to "Zoom in" to pray with them at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Lloyd and Marilyn Davis prayed faithfully with our Caring Hearts team for many years. In fact, Marilyn was the one who named this ministry "Caring Hearts." Many others have participated over the years as well.

Here's Another Way to Help the Round Rock Area Serving Center

Here's a free, easy, and important way to help the Serving Center's Food Pantry:

"We are in need of plastic bags. We are going to leave purple barrels in front of the Furniture Store (west side of the building)* to collect your bags. You can just drive by, toss your bags in and drive off. You will not have to get out of your car.

*ADDRESS: 1099 East Main St, Round Rock

Thank you so much for your help."

If you want to send a check in place of your weekly food donations, you can mail it to:
