We, the community of All Saints',
endeavor to live the love of Christ, as we embrace and serve all of creation as one family.
Mission Statement
1. To become a community of people who worship together and live the Gospel of Christ to the fullest.
2. To become a community of people who practice the Baptismal Covenant and respect the dignity of all people.
3. To become a community of people who, on a daily basis, welcome, empower, and equip one another for the individual ministry to which one is called.
4. To become a people who incorporate the best from the past, embrace the best of the present and prepare for a better future.

The EfM group at All Saints' will be hosting movie night on Saturday, June 30th at 6pm. We will be watching The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.

If you are interested in learning more about the Episcopal Church, you are invited to join us for five conversations on consecutive Sundays, beginning on July 8th and going though August 5th, from 6 to 7 pm in the library classroom. While these classes are especially important for anyone desiring to be confirmed or received into the Episcopal Church, they are open to all -- newcomers as well as those who have been Episcopalians for years. The Christ Haunted Landscape-Four Southern Authors Talk About Their Religious Experience
On two Sundays in June and then again in July, Deborah Wilson and Charles Tyrone, who teach English at Arkansas Tech, will lead a discussion of four authors' short stories and interviews, showing the imprint of "old time religion" on their writing and lives.

The classes will meet starting at 9:00 AM in the Faith and Reason classroom. Copies of the stories and interviews from Susan Ketchin's book will be available, or you can send an email to [email protected], and a copy of the stories and interviews will be sent to you.

Contribution Request for Church Mower Replacement
I am sure that by now most of you have heard that while using the church's old orange mower on April 21st, it caught fire and severely burned the mower. The estimated cost of repair was way beyond the value of the mower once repaired. Considering it is about 13 years old, and was already showing extensive wear, it was depreciated beyond the ability to file an insurance claim. So, it is time for us to replace the mower and we need to find a way to fund it ourselves.
As a result, I am starting a designated fund to enable us to purchase a replacement with a mower more appropriately sized and designed to the large task of mowing our extensive grounds with so many trees.
The old mower was sold for parts/scrap and one donation has already been received giving us some "seed money." A couple more pledges have also been offered that, when received, will be added to the fund thus enabling us to build upon this Mower Replacement Fund until the purchase can be made.
Since the mower we will need will be quite expensive, I am asking for donations to help us replace our old church mower. Please include in the memo line of your check "Mower Replacement" so we know exactly where to apply the funds.
I am always proud of All Saints' and their commitment to rally around any need.

The Letter of James
The Wednesday Morning Bible Study is beginning a study of the letter of James. This short book of the New Testament is thought by many to have been written by James, the brother of Jesus. It is an exhortation to moral behavior within a Christian community, a piece of religious instruction. Bible study begins at 10 am in the Faith & Reason Classroom, and all are welcome to attend.

Every Sunday a wonderful offering of snacks is provided by volunteers from the parish. These snacks, provide a welcoming environment for visitors and parishioners alike. Meet Your Fellow Parishioner: Dr. Glen Bishop, Associate Professor, ATU
Dr. Bishop received his BS from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, his MS from Texas A & M University and his PHD from Michigan State University. On May 10th of this year, Dr. Bishop was recognized and honored for reaching his 20-year milestone in his service to the Arkansas Tech University faculty. Tech is blessed to have his knowledge and passion for sustaining our national parks and resources in the Natural State.
Dr. Bishop is credited for bringing the LEAVE NO TRACE (LNT) program to Arkansas Tech! His enthusiasm for protecting our State's natural resources is contagious and his efforts with the Leave No Trace campaign has been implemented within the Department of Parks, Recreation, and Hospitality Administration. The students at Tech can access all the wonders of our Natural State and practice the LNT seven principles of conservation.
Glen was born in the village of Dobbs Ferry, New York, which was ranked seventh in the list of the top ten places to live in New York State in 2014. Dobbs Ferry is also the first village in New York certified as a Climate Smart Community, the highest level given out in the state. Glen spent his high school years in the "Garden State" of New Jersey. The state ranks second in the country in production of both culinary herbs and blueberries and 17% of the state's land mass comprises vineyards, orchards, horse farms and livestock farms. When Glen graduated from high school he enrolled in the School of Natural Resources at the University of Michigan State in Ann Arbor. Glen's passion for preserving God's creation had been ignited.
While attending U-M, Glen elected to do summer field work at Camp Filibert Rothon Golden Lake in the Ottawa National Forest located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The camp prepared the students to meet the emerging environmental challenges in the late 1960's, 1970's and 1980's by adding environmental communication courses and resource ecology and landscape architecture. Glen then traveled to Texas A & M in College Station, Texas where he acquired his MS in studying the State Parks of Texas and how well the parks are represented by the native flora, wildlife, and landscape. Also, while working on his Master of Science, Glen met the woman who would change the course of his life, the multi-talented and energetic dynamo, Sue Hastings, who would become Mrs. Bishop on May 26th, 1985.
When I asked Glen, "What is the single, most influential variable that has been the impetus for your success?", he replied, "My wife." Sue has led me down paths, discovered towns, camps, and so many places in this beautiful country that I never would have experienced if left to my penchant for being by myself and being an introvert as well. We spent our first summer, as newlyweds, at a Girl Scout Camp in Ten-Sleep, Wyoming. At opposite ends of the camp, no less. Glen is quick to say that Sue is the interesting one, but I believe that it is because of that quiet demeanor and humbleness that God's creation and our natural resources have benefited from Dr. Bishop. The legacy continues with Ann, Sue and Glen's daughter, completing a BS in Natural Resources from Colorado State Univ. and pursuing a MS in Marine Biology.
