On Saturday, May 12th the Benguet Association of Seed Savers (BASS) celebrated the One Year Anniversary of the opening of our Seed Library. A wonderful group of farmers and supporters gathered at the Muncipal Hall in Tublay, Benguet to celebrate and learn more about our seed saving programs.
BASS Farmers set up demonstration stations where guests learned various seed saving techniques and the room was decorated with a photo history of our seed saving programming that began in 2016. We were pleased to have guest from the Illocos Region and staff of our new partner GreenReLeaf join us for the event. Including current US Peace Corps Volunteer Nicholas and his counterparts from an Agriculture College in Pasquin, Illocos Norte. We are looking forward to expanding our Seed School Program to their community in the coming months. Special thanks to the Municipal Agriculture Office for supporting this wonderful day celebrating all things seeds.
