When She Sows Seed...
An excerpt from Creation Gospel Workbook Five Vol. III (Tazria): Heavenly Girls and Bearded Ladies

Tazria is a Torah portion that alludes to the mysterious role of women in the redemption of Israel and proclaiming the good news, the seed of the Word, Messiah Yeshua.  The meaning of tazria is to sow seed in the future tense.  In other words, a birth in Israel on the part of the woman is to sow seed.  Although translated, "When a woman gives birth," the more literal translation is "When a woman sows seed..."  This is less odd when it is recalled that the conflict with the serpent would be resolved with "the seed of the woman," and the Torah portion links the sown seed contextually to the leprosy of the beard, the place of speech.

The Lord God said to the serpent, 'Because you have done this, cursed are you more than all cattle, and more than every beast of the field; on your belly you will go, and dust you will eat all the days of your life; and I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, and you shall bruise him on the heel.' (Genesis 3:14-15)

Now re-read this passage, and substitute in verse one, "When a woman sows seed..."

Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, Speak to the sons of Israel, saying : When a woman gives birth and bears a male child, then she shall be unclean for seven days,  as in the days of her menstruation she shall be unclean. On the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised. Then she shall remain in the blood of her purification for thirty-three days; she shall not touch any consecrated thing, nor enter the sanctuary until the days of her purification are completed. But if she bears a female child, then she shall be unclean for two weeks, as in her menstruation; and she shall remain in the blood of her purification for sixty-six days. When the days of her purification are completed, for a son or for a daughter, she shall bring to the priest at the doorway of the tent of meeting a one year old lamb for a burnt offering and a young pigeon or a turtledove for a sin offering. Then he shall offer it before the LORD and make atonement for her, and she shall be cleansed from the flow of her blood. This is the law for her who bears a child, whether a male or a female. (Leviticus 12:1-7)

It is the woman's seed that is singled out in the curse.  Both the serpent/beast AND the woman will sow seed in the Earth.  In a parable, Yeshua identified words as seeds.  There will be a clear difference and enmity between the two seeds, for one seed will eat dust where the lowest part of the human body touches the Earth.  That seed will be fallen and bend to move on its belly, which is another hint at the appetite, or nefesh, that humans have in common with a beast.  Words spoken from that seed will have the mark of the beast.

It seems that in her temptation, the woman confused herself with the animal-like desires of her nefesh, or lowest part of her soul.  Her deception involved confusing her feelings and desires with truth.  The moment that she ate the fruit, she conformed to the image of the beast, not Elohim's.  This desire, or lust, for the fruit actually conceived and gave birth to sin that would lead to death for adam.

Let no one say when he is tempted, 'I am being tempted by God;' for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death. (James 1:13-15)

On the other hand, Elohim implies that the seed of the woman has the potential to master the lust of desire and sow good seed in the Earth, seed that will master the authority of the beast.  This seed will not confuse itself with the basest part of his soul, the nefesh.  The nefesh will be something he possesses and controls for his good, but it is not who he is.

This pattern of the same davar, or thing, possessing the power to release great good or evil extends all the way from Genesis Three to Revelation.  Whether a child and his or her seed words is sown of the serpent's viewpoint or the valorous woman's viewpoint is always discernible by the Holy Spirit.  John and Yeshua both pointed out people with the appearance of religion who were nevertheless thinking like their father Satan, the serpent:

But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming for baptism, he said to them, 'You brood[1] of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

Therefore bear fruit in keeping with repentance...(Matthew 3:7-8)

The woman's seed eventually bears fruit.  Repentance is the fruit necessary for each one of her sown seeds to demonstrate not who his mother is, but who his Father is, for the question mark is not whether the woman is his mother, but who is the Father?  Whether one is repentant, turning back to Torah with a heart of love for Adonai and one's neighbor, is the fruit that is a type of paternity test.  The serpent could not tell the truth according to the Word of Elohim, for that was a gift given to Adam to bear His stamp of creation.  It was not in the serpent's nature to distinguish truth, but to act according to desire.  Adam was not like the beasts of the field.

They answered and said to Him, 'Abraham is our father.' Jesus said to them, 'If you are Abraham's children, do the deeds of Abraham.' But as it is, you are seeking to kill Me, a man who has told you the truth, which I heard from God; this Abraham did not do. You are doing the deeds of your father.' They said to Him, 'We were not born of fornication; we have one Father: God.' Jesus said to them, 'If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and have come from God, for I have not even come on My own initiative, but He sent Me. Why do you not understand what I am saying? It is because you cannot hear My word. You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies. But because I speak the truth, you do not believe Me. Which one of you convicts Me of sin? If I speak truth, why do you not believe Me? He who is of God hears the words of God; for this reason you do not hear them, because you are not of God.' (John 8:39-47)

What is the serpent's nature?  The same bundle of beastly appetites he had in the Garden:  "Therefore consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry." (Colossians 3:5)

The serpent's seed can neither hear nor speak human truth; it's not in his nature.  The Word of Elohim is truth.  The woman's seed will hear, speak, and love the truth, which means her sown seed will love Yeshua and bring forth fruits that demonstrate the paternity of the Father, just as Yeshua's Word and deeds demonstrated His paternity.  The challengers were implying that Yeshua's paternity was in question, but Yeshua says His words bear the seal (DNA) of the Father who sent Him.

Those who have the testimony of Yeshua and the commandments of Adonai are living proof of both Holy maternity and paternity.  May our words always reflect whose children we are.

[1] In some languages it may be possible to translate this phrase in Mt 3:7 more or less literally, for example, 'the offspring of vipers.'
