New Book Spotlight

Bob by Wendy Mass and Rebecca Stead

Bob's been hiding in a closet in Livy's grandmother's house for five years, waiting for Livy to return.

Even though Livy doesn't remember this greenish monster in a chicken costume named Bob, she honors her promise to help the memory-less Bob discover his past. Their journeys for answers forms a magical friendship. Check out Bob.
Riddle Me This!
Tell the answer to a staff member at the Youth Information Desk to receive a delicious prize!

Last Month's Answer: Cut Yourself Some Slack.
Mid-Lit: Peer Book Reviews

My name is Imala and I reviewed One For the Murphys by Lynda Mullaly Hunt.

I liked it because it showed real life problems and how we act in certain situations. This book made me feel many different emotions because through all the different situations Carly finds herself in she somehow finds a way to make it work.

My friends and people who like sad stories that are very interesting and have a twisted ending.  I give this book four stars.

Curious about writing a review? Visit the library's web page and submit a review of a book, movie, video game, music, CD, or magazine. You may just find it in the next Middle Files.
THE IMPORTANCE OF
SUMMER READING

By Tom Malinowski

When you stop reading, you lose some of what you've learned over the school year.

Yikes!

This is called the "summer slide." The library's Summer Reading program helps you combat summer slide and keep you ready for continued learning in the fall. By providing different ways of learning through events and hands-on opportunities, we strive to give you a fun reason to keep reading and encourage you to read what you like best! This helps keep your proficiencies up while still having fun.

We'll be handing out various prizes and/or coupons upon each completion of a log (10 hours). The goal is to complete 100 hours by the end of the Summer Reading program. And that is definitely a reasonable goal! The hours you log can be a combination of reading and activities such as flying a kite, exercising, planning a family outing, and more.

Sign up for Summer Reading and I hope to see you at the library all summer long!
