Fall Sports Highlights
Field Hockey
Going in to their third week of play in the tough Mount Hamilton league, the field hockey team is 1-2-1 in league and 4-3-2 overall. The JV team started their season 3-0 against tough league opponents St. Francis, St. Ignatius, and Presentation. The girls play Mitty on Thursday and then go on the road for three games before returning home to play Live Oak on October 19th.

Cross Country
Both the girls and boys Varsity teams are off to a 1-3 start, with the JV boys off to a 2-2 start. Seniors Tim Liao, Jake Armendariz, and Sierra Seratti are leading the team as they head to invitational meets this weekend. Next league meet is on October 4th against Sobrato at Montgomery Hill.
Girls Volleyball
The girls are off to a 2-3 start in Mount Hamilton league play, 4-8 overall. Going in to this week, the JV team is 3-0 in league play (4-2 overall), with the Freshman team 1-1 in league (1-2 overall). The team goes on the road for the next two weeks, back at home on October 19th. Come out and support the team as they take on league rival Willow Glen that night. The game versus Branham was featured on the
49ers Cal-Hi Sports Show
on Sept. 17th, at the 5:25 mark in the show.

Girls Tennis
The tennis team is in second place in the Blossom Valley League, led by Freshman twins Emma and Isabella Cox. The team is 5-2 overall and 4-2 in league. JV is also doing well, 4-2 overall and 3-0 in league. There is a Freshman team as well this year, starting the year 1-2 overall and 1-1 in league. The team has two home matches next week - on Tuesday, 10/3 versus Prospect and Thursday 10/5 versus Independence.
Football
Leigh's football team started it's year 4-0, with a league win over Santa Teresa last week. All of the wins have come through comebacks by Leigh in the 4th quarter. Congratulations to the team for never giving up! The JV team is off to a 2-2 start, with both losses very close games. Both teams have their second league game at Pioneer this week. Highlights from Leigh's game against Santa Teresa are included in the Mercury News' roundup of last week's Mount Hamilton football action. Help Sports Boosters reach our Annual Membership Goal of $18,000
Thank you to everyone who has donated to our membership drive to date, especially to our many Super VIP Members. Our membership drive is our largest fundraiser of the year and at our $97 membership level you gain access into all Leigh 2017-2018 home sporting events.

Cheer Camp
Leigh's cheerleaders are excited to present their annual Junior Cheer Camp for kids Pre-K - 8th grade on Oct. 10th - 12th, with the very popular half time performance at the Varsity football game on Oct. 13th. The campers learn cheers, stunts and a dance performance with our cheerleaders...a fun time is had by all! Pre-registration is required.
