The Goshen Weekly, September 24, 2018
Last week we celebrated the International Day of Peace by coming together as a community to hang the peace doves that children made in their classrooms and to share songs on the playground. Children also reflected on what makes them feel peaceful, including "lying in the sun" and "being with my family."  Click here  for more photos.

Message from the Head of School

Hello Goshen families!

We are looking forward to seeing you all at Back-to-School Night today and tomorrow. This is when you get to see what your child does all day! You'll meet your teachers, learn about the curriculum and hear ways you can volunteer in the classroom and beyond. We'll start with a brief presentation in the Grange at 7 pm, then parents will go to their classrooms to hear from teachers. See you tonight!

A special thank you to Bumblebee dad Chris Kopp, who donated a number of very useful items through his employer, Georgia Pacific. We will make great use of the plates, utensils and napkins for school events, and the tissues and paper towels for sniffles and spills. Thank you, Chris!

The annual Hayride is Sunday! I love this day! Touring a Chester County farm by hay wagon, roasting hot dogs (including the veggie kind!), enjoying s'mores ... what's not to love? We hope to see you there for this great event sponsored by the General Committee!

Have a great week!
Mimi

Our first Service Project Collection Drive is now underway! Through Tuesday, October 9,  we'll be collecting snacks and drinks for  the members of the Goshen Fire Company to say "THANKS" for everything they do for our school and our community. If you'd like to contribute to this SNACK DRIVE, please send in nonperishable individual-sized snacks and drinks that members of the fire company can enjoy when they have down time between calls: chips, cookies, pretzels, popcorn, Gatorade, seltzer waters, and bottled water are just a few ideas. Feel free to choose your favorite snack!  The firefighters will be visiting Goshen Friends on October 10 and 11, and we will be presenting donations to them on those days. Click here for more information - and thank you!

Please check the Student Directory that was sent via email last week and submit corrections to [email protected]. If you've already sent corrections, thank you! A new Directory incorporating all changes that have been submitted will be sent via email later this week.
