Getting Pregnant (or not)
During the Time of Coronavirus
Important considerations regarding conception and contraception
During this time of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, people have questions about whether or not they should get pregnant. Others have questions and concerns around accessing contraceptives. Given the lessons learned from weather events that have kept people home for extended periods of time, we can expect a baby boom in 2021. Now is the time to lean in and provide people with the information and resources they need to support their reproductive health wishes.

To meet this need, PCHHC and partners have created an evidence-based info-sheet to provide key information for people to consider. Clinics across the country are taking different approaches to care provision, which can be confusing. We have heard that there are shortages of condoms in some places. We also have heard stories of frustration from people in states where certain medical procedures are consider non-essential. There is a lot going on right now - let's work together to do what we can to provide access to strategies and support.

It is currently thought that it i s very unlikely that COVID-19 causes birth defects. There is limited evidence around maternal-fetal transmission. There is some evidence that pregnant women are more likely to get the coronavirus.
