The Latest News from the Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary
We've become comfortable with the fact that just as we settle into a season, a new one inevitably presents itself. However, autumn especially seems to emerge from out of nowhere, landing squarely with hopeful anticipation of the "new". This year, it struck as ironic. For as Mother Earth slowly transitions from blistering sun into long winter days, the sanctuary is busier than ever. Volunteers are flocking to the property to assist in corporate and student workdays, "Sundays at the Sanctuary" are in full gear and our education team is hard at work in the school classrooms. While the leaves change and fall to the ground, we're bursting forth with action and inspiration.

This December, we will mark five years since the passing of our Catherine. While our hearts long for what could have been, we are determined to remain focused on realizing our daughter's dream and being her voice as we create a place where all will know kindness, compassion and acceptance - just as she would have wanted. Thank you for the continued love and support... we couldn't create this dream without you.

Sincerely,
Jenny & Matt Hubbard

Wildlife rescue and rehabilitation is one the most important facets of animal welfare and yet, the most underserved. That is why we are so thrilled to be working with Lisa Ann Dickal, state licensed wildlife rehabilitator who is volunteering her time and expertise to help the sanctuary.

"A friend and I had a wonderful ride on the Trail of Angels at the sanctuary property the other day. The trails are so nice with excellent footing through the woods and great fields to canter around. We put our horses in one of the paddocks and had a nice picnic lunch. Thank you so much for making this trail available to equestrians! I've lived in Newtown for over 30 years and it makes my heart feel good to see this beauty come out of a horrible tragedy."
