CONGRATULATIONS CLASS OF 2018!
We are so proud to celebrate the amazing seniors who became CCHS alumni on Sunday-congratulations! It was a graduation week filled with memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you to Bishop Dennis Sullivan and Superintendent of Schools Mary Boyle for their presence at these events, and especially Ms. Ann Clinton for planning a beautiful Baccalaureate Mass and commencement ceremony. From the Office of Academic Affairs- Mark your calendars!
Students are preparing for final examinations over the next two weeks. These assessments count for twenty percent of the semester grade, and should be approached seriously. The final examination schedule is as follows:
June 13
English and World Language
June 14
Religion and Science
June 15
Math and Social Studies
Each day we will follow a similar schedule. The first exam will start at 8:25. The second exam will start at 10:05. Dismissal will be at 11:30. Students who have already qualified for extended time accommodations will receive separate instructions. The extended time testing begins at 8:00 and lasts until 12:25. Parents are asked to contact Ms. Wilkinson at [email protected] if there is a need for a student in the extended time room to take the school bus home. A detailed list of class and room assignments will be posted throughout the school.
Students should make every effort to be in school each day for Finals. Only an absolute emergency should keep a student from taking the final exam on the scheduled day. Parents should call the attendance office by 8:00 AM any day an emergency prevents a student from taking the exam. A doctor's note, or other official document, is required to be eligible for make- up exams. Make-up exams will be given on June 18, 2018.
Taking final exams is the culmination of the effort of our students and faculty throughout the year. They provide an opportunity to reflect on all that has been learned this year as we prepare for a well-deserved summer break. This information is provided so families can mark their calendars. ADVOCATE FOR TRANSPORTATION, TECH & NURSING FUNDING IN CATHOLIC SCHOOLS
Our students are at risk for loss of hard-fought state funding! Ask NJ legislators to fight for our students!
Just months after funding for bus transportation was increased from $884 to $1,000 - the first increase in seven years - Governor Murphy's 2019 budget calls for a reduction back to $884 per pupil for non-public school students. The proposed budget also calls for cuts in nursing and technology funds.

PARENTS' ASSOCIATION MEETINGS-ALL ARE WELCOME!
Next Meeting: Tuesday, June 19th at 7pm in Faculty Dining Room. This is the final Parents Association meeting of the year and we'll be having a potluck of appetizers and honor our outgoing president for her many years of service. We'll also be discussing next year's calendar of events. We hope you can join us!
IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR PARENTS ON NUTRIKIDS ACCOUNTS
As the end of the school year approaches we want to advise parents that any funds remaining on Nutrikids accounts do not transfer to the next school year. We advise all current funds on the account are used prior to the end of the school year. Cash can be used for food service if you do not wish to add additional funds on your students Nutrikids account as we approach the end of the school year. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO TURN OFF THE AUTOMATIC REFILL ON THE ACCOUNT to avoid additional funds being added.

KHAN ACADEMY-
FREE ONLINE RESOURCE FOR STUDENTS
Salman Khan was living in in Boston and tutoring his cousins in New Orleans. In an all-too frequent story, these children had gaps in their learning that made them believe that they could not do math. Khan set out to fill in those gaps. Along the way, he developed videos and posted them to YouTube. It turned out that his cousins like the videos better than the live Salman Khan. The reason was obvious. The cousins could pause the video, but not the live Salman Khan. Khan Academy was born from that experience and now has over 2000 videos that reach over a million students each month. These videos are now linked to practice problems that allow students to practice a skill until they truly understand it. Khan's premise this that students should keep practicing a topic until they master it.
Recently, the College Board has collaborated with Khan Academy to provide free, online SAT and AP test prep. The College Board reports that last year, 16,000 students saw gains of 200 points on their SATs when they dedicated 20 hours to this online prep. Students can click on the College Board's website to customize their online tutorial. However, these resources are not just for SAT and AP prep. Students can use these resources to review even basic concepts. We at Camden Catholic want our students to tap into this powerful resource. The Guidance Department and Office of Academic Affairs will encourage students to use this resource. Salman Khan encourages families to watch the same video, and talk about it. Together, we can all benefit from this resource.

SUMMER IN THE CITY PROGRAM
The Summer in the City Program is a week-long immersion project where the participant is given the opportunity to live and work the gospel of service and social justice through the gift of self. The combination of service at multiple work sites and reflection sessions gives young people the chance to use their talents and abilities to help their neighbor, and increase their awareness and understanding of the importance of the rights and dignity of the human person. This is a project of the Youth Ministry Office of the Diocese of Camden.

BASEBALL & SOFTBALL EQUIPMENT DRIVE:
6/21, 9AM-2PM @ CCHS
We will be collecting used baseball, softball and playground equipment and donating it to the North Camden Little League in cooperation with Urban Promise. The North Camden Little League has an organization of 800 plus children up to the age of 18. This is a great opportunity to help an organization that does such good and continue to flourish and keep our great game alive! Collection day for this program will be
Saturday June 21st at Camden Catholic High School 300 Cuthbert Blvd. Cherry Hill, N.J. ( parking lot behind the school near the baseball field)
9am-2pm This equipment will help keep our youth off the streets and on the fields and playgrounds where they are safe and can enjoy a great summer! So please take part in this great cause tell your team, your friends, families and neighbors and clean out your basements, garages, sheds and attics and let's continue to make this a huge success. Berlin AA concession stand volunteers needed. Duties include but are not limited to: serve food, snacks, and beverages to customers to fill their orders, totaling the customer's order and making change in the cash register, making sure counters, metal and glass surfaces are cleaned as needed, check and stock supplies in counter area, display area, and display refrigerators, perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required. ***Please no flip flops, sandals, or open toe shoes.
