Non-Profit Grant Application Process Opens Tomorrow
The San Mateo County Strong Non-Profit Emergency Grant Applicatio n process will open on   Wednesday, May 6 at 8 am.

All non-profit agencies providing services in San Mateo County whose operations have been disrupted by COVID-19 are eligible to apply. Applications will be accepted until receipt of 250 applications or Monday, May 11 at 5 pm whichever comes first .

Grants are for a maximum of $20,000 and it is expected that these funds will address the loss of revenue and/or unexpected costs, such as:
  • Supplies related to health and hygiene (e.g., masks, gowns, gloves, and other protective equipment) as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control or the county public health department
  • Technology upgrades or purchase of virtual communication vehicles
  • Other operational expenses related to the shift in services or the provision of emergency services

Shelter-in-Place Extended Through May
The public health officer has revised the shelter-in-place order that began in mid-March. The updated order goes into effect May 4, and extends through May 31. It calls for some eased restrictions, but all requirements for social distancing and wearing face coverings remain in effect.

Effective Monday, May 4, gardeners and landscapers resumed work according to the updated shelter-in-place   San Mateo County Health Order . The order was extended to May 31, and has some protocols to ensure the safety of the workers as well as the public in adhering to social distancing protocols. As a condition of operating outdoor businesses in the updated order, workers must adhere to social distancing protocols and requirements.

COVID-19 Testing for Essential Services/Businesses
To help flatten the curve and support first responders and essential workers, Stanford Medicine has launched:

  • Drive-through testing sites.
  • Prioritized testing and results.
  • A smartphone app with the latest, most accurate information on COVID-19.

Testing is available to anyone working in a grocery store, gas station, restaurant or other business that remains open to provide services to the community.

San Mateo County Assessor Recommends Business Owners File 2020 Business Property Statements (Form 571-L) Online
The San Mateo County Assessor’s Office wants to remind all business owners that they may file their Business Property Statements (Form 571-L) online.

To use the e-file service, you should use your annual Business Identification Number (BIN) for the current year, which is included in your annual mailing from our office. Please note that BIN’s are good for the current year only, and you must utilize a new number each year. You only need to request a BIN if you are not able to obtain the BIN letter you were mailed. If you have the BIN letter, you are encouraged to file online by using the BIN provided.
