Fear and Uncertainty: New Article by Dr. Dan About Facing Tragedy
by Dr. Dan Peters

I feel sick. My dread has been growing since my wife woke me up this morning to tell me what happened in Las Vegas. My usual coping mechanisms aren't working. I can't just say, "It happened in Europe...It happened in the South...It's terrorism...It was at a protest..." It's not that any of these things I usually say to myself are true or accurate, it's just that they usually allow me to put my head down and deal with life day to day with a quiet sadness for those who are gone and who have lost loved ones.

New Parent Footprint Podcasts: The Possibility Principle with Mel Schwartz,
and  Socially Awkward with Ty Tashiro
Dr. Dan interviewed two amazing authors this month to the Parent Footprint podcast:

Mel Schwartz on the Possibility Principle: Dr. Dan Peters welcomed psychotherapist and author Mel Schwartz, where they talked about the question Mel has been asking his clients for over 20 years: How would YOU like to experience your life?

Mel Schwartz, LCSW, MPhil, is a psychotherapist and marriage counselor in private practice in Westport, CT and Manhattan. He is an emerging voice in the field of personal transformation and is one of the first practicing psychotherapists to integrate the principles of quantum physics into his psychotherapeutic approach. Mel is the author of the new book, "The Possibility Principle: How Quantum Physics Can Improve the Way You Think, Live, and Love," and "The Art of Intimacy, The Pleasure of Passion." He has written over 100 articles, read by more than 1.5 million people.

T y Tashiro on Social Awkwardness: Next, Dr. Dan interviewed Ty Tashiro, Ph.D., and author of "Awkward: The Science of Why We're Socially Awkward and Why That's Awesome." A psychologist and interpersonal relationship expert, Ty Tashiro gives Dr. Dan a look at what it means to be awkward and how we can all embrace our personal quirks to harness our potential and more comfortably navigate this complex world. Dr. Dan explains that most of us feel a little awkward sometime in our lives, and that awkwardness is not social anxiety.

Dr. Tashiro is also the author of "The Science of Happily Ever After." His work has been featured in the New York Times, the Washington Post, Time.com, TheAtlantic.com, and on NPR and Sirius XM Stars radio.
