It rained all day yesterday, but that didn't dampen the spirit as we moved the church picnic from the Putnam County Park to the church. L & R Barbeque provideded barbeque, buns, cole slaw, baked beans, and potato salad. Church picnickers proved chips, desserts, and soft drinks. The Fellowship Hall was filled with food, laughter, great fellowship, and hungry people. After dinner the annual corn hole tournament began in the Family Life Center.  Two brackets of teams found themselves in fierce competition, with Scott Krall and Jeremy Daniels winning it all. (Re-matches are already being talked about for next year.) I appreciated the good spirit of those who set up the extra tables after Sunday School on Sunday morning and those who helped take them down on Sunday evening. It was a delight to have the addition of the Family Life Center where children and adults had the indoor space for a time of fun and fellowship. What a blessing to be a part of such a fellowship of disciples. It was a great evening.

Grace & freedom,
Ellis

Baby Bottle Boomerang
Thank you for your monetary donations to Women's Choice Pregnancy Resource Center. There's still time to turn in your baby bottle next week. Would you like to take a tour of the Center to learn more about how they help women? Call 304.346.9779. Volunteer Receptionists are desperately needed. They are also searching for an Executive Director. A recent Praise Report from the Center: a woman came in the Center with joyful tears in her eyes; she came back to say thank you for helping her see that she could choose life. The previous year she called the center distraught, not knowing what to do. Please keep the women who call the center in prayer.

Operation Christmas Child Packing Party
You're invited to help pack items for our first Operation Christmas Child Packing Party. Everyone can take part in this church-wide effort to pack more boxes that will put the Gospel in the hands of more children. The party is Oct. 27, 9-noon. We're gathering supplies for school, hygiene, accessories, toys, and a "wow" item for each box. Check the clearance aisle and end of season items to buy in bulk. This week our focus is on soap boxes (to pack bar soap), pencil sharpeners, and erasers.  We are blessed to be a blessing.
