NEWSLETTER SEPTEMBER

After an extremely busy summer with our summer camps and high performance training both in Burlington and Toronto, we are really excited to be back with you for the start of a new academy year. We welcome all new players and their families to ACE!

Our Competitive and Recreational programs have started with a bang at Cedar Springs Club in Burlington - where we are working closely with the club to ensure that all participants in our programs become members of the club - and at Toronto Tennis City where we have made some great new additions to the coaching staff (see below).

We had outstanding performances by some of our high performance players [see below] and they have now started an intensive training block through the fall period. Lastly, it was wonderful for many of our players, parents, coaches and staff to experience high level Davis Cup action right in our back yard last week end, where the Canadian Team beat Netherlands 3-1.

The Tennis Buzz is on, we are all feeling it and we look forward to a great year!

DID YOU KNOW?

'Statistics show that at the top, players win 55... 58 percent of the points. That is the average. That means, a guy that is number 1 in the world, basically is winning less than 6 points out of 10 points. We as coaches are and trying to get that point across to players. Because players are perfectionists. They miss 1 or 2 balls and they really get down on themselves, but you only really have to be correct 55% of the time......
if you do that, you could be number 1 in the world!

Quote from CRAIG KARDON interview with Tennis Magazine

Dr. Anil Kaushal
" An athletes body faces different demands than the average patient. Sports injuries are unique and the rehab that follows these injuries needs to be uniquely tailored as well. We will be conducting movement screening of ACE high performance athletes in order for us to gather baseline data on how the players move. In the unfortunate event that a player is injured, we will then already have knowledge of their specific mechanics and can use that to help direct treatment more efficiently. We will also use the screen as an opportunity to note errant movement patterns, muscle compensation and general movement capacity to make possible training/fitness recommendations to the coaches."
