Campaign FAQ's
What Have We Achieved?
We are so very thankful for the many pledges and gifts received for the Building Inside Out capital campaign. In addition to generous pledges, over $400,000 has already been deposited in MIPC's accounts. Early receipt of these gifts means the Building & Grounds team can start on the most immediate items. We will share the results of commitments received to date, and give thanks to God for abundance in the life of our church, on Sunday, June 17.

How Can I Still Participate?
We plan to wrap up the campaign in mid-June and are now in the phase of receiving gift commitments. If you haven't yet responded, we really want to hear from you. Commitment Cards are available at the front desk and online

How Much to Give?
Each household is being asked to make an equal sacrifice which will manifest itself differently as the circumstances of each household are unique. Our three year campaign Challenge Goal is $3,000,000. Our church annual budget is roughly $1,100,000. So, in order to reach that goal the total pledge, on average, would have to be three times the regular annual giving. The pledges received so far are, on average, three times the level of annual gifting and have us on track to reach the $3,000,000 Challenge Goal. To reach the goal we will need everyone's generous participation and, frankly, a little extra generosity from those who are able. Pledges to our capital campaign are above and beyond our regular offering and may be contributed as a one-time gift or in weekly, monthly, quarterly or annual payments over the coming three years ending in May 2021.

What if I Have Never Pledged Before?
Getting started with pledging and annual giving can feel awkward; we've all "been there". The best way to start something new is to give it a try. In the Bible, God's people are instructed to give back a portion of what's been given them. Perhaps start with 2 or 3% of your household income, with the goal to increase the amount you give back to God's church as time goes by. Certainly every gift helps the mission of the church, but it's not always about how much we give but instead, that we give, recognizing that giving increases our faith and our understanding that all we have been given comes from God.

What's Next?
Because we hope to have a 100% response to the Building Inside Out capital campaign, we will reach out to those who have not yet made a commitment. The purpose is to answer any questions, provide information and receive each household's response. If you do not need any further information, or feel unable to pledge at this time you may opt out of contact by contacting Mike Crewdson ([email protected]).

Where Can I Get More Information?
Information on the Building Inside Out campaign is available online by clicking on the campaign logo at mipc.org. If you have questions not answered there, feel free to drop a line to Rich Stillman ([email protected]) or Dave Vandenbosch ([email protected]).
Finance News
Giving Statements have been mailed
You should have received your giving statement for the first 4 months of this year.  Please take some time to review the statement to make sure your giving is on schedule and that your gifts have been correctly recorded by us.  If you have any questions regarding your statement, please contact Mike Crewdson, Director of Finance at (206) 232-5595 x1006.

Enjoy the Convenience of Electronic Giving
We want to remind you that we offer electronic giving as a way to automate your regular offering.  Electronic giving offers convenience for you while providing MIPC much-needed donation consistency.  We have both direct debit giving which automatically transfers funds from your checking or savings account as well as credit card giving.  Visit our website www.MIPC.org to set up an automatic donation plan, change your donation plan or make a one-time donation.
Search for Director of Student Ministries
We have begun the search for a new leader of our youth program. We would like every member of MIPC to think about people they know throughout the US who may excel at this opportunity. If you know someone, you can either pass their contact information to a member of our search committee, or direct that person to the job announcement which is posted on our MIPC website. Search committee members are: Kim Kamolz, Malcom McLellan, Carrie Shanafelt, Steven Briggs, Andrea Watson, Scott McBurney and Pastor Lindsay

Upcoming Activities & Events

We want you to love volunteering at our church, and especially in Children's Ministry! No matter your spiritual gift, there is a place for you in Children's Ministry. No matter your passion or comfort level around kids, there is a place for you here. Wherever you serve, whether with the babies, preschool, elementary or behind the scenes, we want you to love where you are serving. If you are already serving and think that there might be a better fit for your gifts in Children's Ministry, please let me know and we can have a conversation about switching your area of service. Thank you, [email protected]

Our church community will be honoring our Seniors as they are invited up front during the service to be reminded that God loves them deeply, and walks with them into the next chapter of their life.  A special slide show is being created and a reception planned with cake following the service to display senior photos and parent letters!  All families & friends are invited to commemorate the graduating class of 2018.
MIPC Courtyard Gallery
J oin us on June 3 after the 9:30am service
We are pleased to have a presentation by Anne H. H. Pyle, Watanabe Sadao's only private student, and the owner of the largest collection of his work. Join us on June 3 after the 9:30am service in the A-B classroom to learn more about this artist and his calling.

The art of Watanabe Sadao has hung in the Vatican Museum, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the British Museum, the National Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo and many other leading museums. Digital prints of his work will be exhibited in the MIPC Courtyard Gallery from April 19 - June 16, due to the generosity of Anne H. H. Pyle and the School of Asian Studies at the University of Washington.

A Christian Artist in a country where Shinto and Buddhist heritage is dominant, Mr. Watanabe created lively and energetic prints with Christian themes from traditional Japanese materials using a complex, multi-stepped process of preparation of materials and creation of images. During President Lyndon Johnson's administration, his prints hung in the White House. Yet, Watanabe said, "I would most like to see them hanging where people ordinarily gather, because Jesus brought the gospel for the people."  Prints on display through June 16.

Summer 2018 Sermon Series
What few verses from the Bible most inspire you? Comfort you? Guide you? Give you direction and hope? What verse is taped on your mirror or tucked on a note card in your wallet? Tuesday Morning Men's Bible Study
We meet on Tuesdays at 7:00am in the Fireside Room. Please contact Brian Emanuels for more information, [email protected] .
Sanctuary Flowers
Each Sunday, congregation members have the opportunity to provide the beauty of flowers to the sanctuary. Many donate to honor loved ones who have passed, celebrate an anniversary or birthday or just because they love seeing flowers at church. Whatever the reason, the thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated. Flowers can come from your garden or a flower shop, whatever works best for you.
Because some of our members and guests are allergic to floral fragrances it is best to plan flowers without fragrances. Thank you.

If you would like to sign up to provide flowers for an upcoming Sunday service or for more information please continue to this  link .
